any other sellers have trouble with Paypal? They are telling me funds from sales will be held 21 days!?!?! I have never had any problem or disputes so I don't know why this is. I called paypal and they could give me no better answer. anyone??

Is this on ebay? I think they add in a delay until you've made 25 sales. I haven't had that happen to me for sales on the forums, though.

nope, it is for everything. and on ebay I have waaayy more than 25 sales. been doing it for years.

Paypal closed my account down for saleing switchblades. I had a credit card machine and that is how I was takeing payment for them. Paypal said I could not sell them at all if I wanted to keep the account. I told them what they could do with there account and this is why I am so happy that I dont have paypal any more. I was selling swords and peper spray and that is what I was takeing paypal for.

If you have accumulated a high volume of sales processed through Gift or regular paypal, you might need to pony up for Paypal Premier.
That is the only thing I can think of.

I used to use paypal until i found out they were Anti Second Amendment. If your for the second Amendment i'd drop them anyway and not have to deal with the headaches. I also would'nt fund someone to take those right away from me. Good Luck,

Do you have a link to their official stance on this matter? Have they provided financial support to anti-gun groups? I've researched this and haven't come up with much except what reads like one sided arguments. My guess was that they didn't want to be hassled and have legal issues over being involved with so many laws that states have regarding interstate transport and sales of firearms. Seems like it would be a bit out of their league to begin with. The laws governing firearms and some knives would create a whole lot of extra work for them, and I'd imagine the fees would get to the point where others would not want to hassle with it. They appear to be playing it safe from what I can see. You seem pretty sure, and I'd genuinely like to know what the deal really is.

Go to : PayPalsucks.com

You will learn all you need to know and more. The horror stories are abundant and true. I use PP as little as possible and have been on the receiving end

of their unorthodox practices several times.

I read your post and thought to myself "Why does Paypal care or need to examine everything you sell in order to keep an account with them?" My opinion of Paypal was not very high to begin with because of their outrageous fees. Now that I've read your post (and others) it seems they are bottom feeders. Problem is, they've got an almost virtual monopoly on ebay sales.

Must have something to do with being a wholly-owned subsidiary of eBay.;)

Yes I knew that and I wonder why the Justice Department ever let it happen due to the monopolistic nature of it. I know other paying options are available but Paypal apparently dominates sales.

Which is also the reason, I believe, behind the limitation/prohibition on automatics and butterflies/balisongs. Don't quote me, I never asked. I know that I had my account put on hold until I removed a balisong off my website at which point everything resumed back to normal.

I don't recall Paypal ever telling me that they have to hold funds unless the payment was made by eCheck or Paypal is investigating a suspicious payment.

I was selling on another site and they look just like ebay but no listing fees until your item gets sold.I put all of my switchblades on that site. pretty soon I transfered all of my auctions to that site and then they told me I cant sell switchblade at all or they where going to close my account down. I cleaned out paypal and changed bank accounts with the same bank so they could not take any money from me.

I've had a Personal account with PayPal for 12 years (never upgraded to Premier). I do a fair number of sales but I haven't been notified of any hold on funds. I'l have to check into it.

They guarantee that the buyer will get a refund if there's a problem with the purchase. They're probably holding funds to cover their ass.

I use PayPal, but then again, I'm primarily a buyer. It makes for a safe transaction as my banking info is not revealed to the Seller. I have had to wait on a few sales before I could cash-out, but it isn't enough of a big deal for me to quit a working system for safe sales transactions. I've had PayPal back me up on several bad transactions over the years.

Monopolistic nature of what? Ebay is not an essential service. You're not going to die as a result being unable to buy or sell chotchkies on ebay. Also, ebay doesn't stop you from using other means of transferring funds. They simply make the paypal service better.

Oh and btw, you mean the commerce dept. Justice can only sue after the fact. Commerce allows or disallows mergers (assuming they are big enough which ebay/pp was not.)

Thanks for the response and no I did mean the Justice Department not the Commerce Department. You are not exactly correct.

Also did a check of their financial records online. Found that PayPal accounts for a significant portion of eBay’s revenues and around 27% of its overall value.

Paypal did this too me last year and I have over 200 Postive Feedback's over year's of doing business with them. There were no explanation's or justification's given by them. After complaining continuously, they stopped doing it too me after a couple Month's. If you need your money, you can call them and tell them you need the fund's released. They alway's released the fund's when I called. I think they do this randomly, without any just cause. I just do not know why?????? I had No Gifted fund's ever on my account or any problem's of any kind.
