Yeah, I don't think anything can really "replace" good old peanut butter.

I just remembered we saved a 1.75L jug of Angie's hard cider from last year, to have at Thanksgiving this year. That's gonna be awesome.

Almond butter is pretty good too
But man does it cost ( like $8.00 or $9.00 a jar)

 Yes, my wife bought a jar and we've been keeping it in the fridge. Absolutely delicious!

Update on my mom for those who noticed my absence this past weekend....

She's still in CICU (cardiac ICU), off of sedation and the ventilator. They had tried a trial with the ventilator off on Sunday afternoon with no success, but she woke up enough at midnight Sunday to pull the tube out herself. Since she was breathing okay at this point, they left it out. She's still pretty confused and tired, which is pretty normal, but they also think she may have had a mild stroke at some point. The did a CT and are not quite sure. For now, it's wait and see how much and quickly she'll recover.

Again, thanks for all the smoke and prayers. There is a reason that this is my favorite internet forum... The sense of community and family is very real!

You guys inspired me. This is what I had for beckerfast, I mean breakfast......:D
Peanut butter with a little maple brown sugar oatmeal added to it. The kids had french toast sticks and had a few left over, so I grabbed the bowl of syrup for dunking and tossed in a couple spoonfuls of pb and heated it for a few seconds in the microwave. It was amazing but I think Im going into a peanut butter coma. You know that feeling when pb sticks to the roof of your mouth....that's kinda how I feel all over on the inside:D

to add to the debate, I like mine crunchy, and paired with blueberry jam

Glad to hear the encouraging news Greg :)

I'm in. But keep the crust on please.

Me too! If anyone doesn't like the heel of the bread, I'll eat it. In fact when I was a kid, my great aunt used to bake three loaves of bread at Thanksgiving so me, my Dad and my uncle wouldn't fight over the heels :D

My wife is awesome. I just talked her into bringing home bacon, sausage, more peanut butter and Nutella on her way home from work.

Oh yeah... the heel is the best part. My kids hated it when they were growing up, so I always got to have it. Now there is just me, the wife and the dog. I still get the heel. Life is good.

What the world needs is bread pans that are normal width and depth, but only about 3" long... that way I could bake like six loaves at once and have mostly heels ;)

I don't believe I've ever seen blueberry jam...perhaps I led a sheltered life.

Glad to hear the encouraging news Greg :)

Thanks James, and WW and Tman, and all you other Beckerheads!

You mentioned you'd never had Nutella before...you, sir, are in for a treat! If you Google "nutella crack brownies," you can find some pretty interesting recipes that are pretty addictive.

I think you're onto something.

nutella is awesome. And there is a blueberry jam labeled Polaner that is very good.
