One of the very few things I dislike about living in East TN is that there's no rye bread to be found in the "normal" grocery stores. No regular rye, no light, no dark, no swirl, no carraway, nothing. Just plain old boring white and wheat breads. :(

It's a cryin' shame.

Sounds like the perfect excuse for buying a bread making machine and experimenting with interwebz rye bread recipes.

anyone doing anything exciting this weekend?

Pulling weeds, mowing the waterway, pulling weeds, spraying a pasture, pulling weeds, dig up some fence posts that need replacing, pulling weeds, putting in new fence posts, and plant some plants.

Oh, did I mention I might pull a few weeds, as well. :D:D

This weekend is my 6 year wedding anniversary. Our plan was to spend the weekend at the lake where my mother-in-law was gonna watch our kids while we went out to dinner. Its calling for severe tstorms all weekend so we called it off. Now we are without a sitter. So either we take them with us or celebrate another time.

Perfect solution would be to celebrate with the kids this weekend and then celebrate without them later... best of both worlds.

WTF - What's with the 1.66 YARDS and 2.33 YARDS??? What's wrong with the standard 5 feet by 7 feet or 60 inches by 84 inches???? That's what they put on the pouches. Nobody except American football measures things in yards.

Why am I getting the feeling that tradewater puts the "nut" in nutella?

Tradewater puts his nuts wherever he darn well pleases and you'll like it and say thank you sir. Can I have another?

Tomorrow I'm going for another hike with a guy from work. The rest of the weekend I need to pack for my vacation I'm leaving for on Thursday.

I saw those, almost bought one myself. I should get one, for the price it's not much of a gamble.

I bet 5x7 was the size of the material before they hemmed the edges and then they do the final actual size in yards so people won't bother doing the math and realize they got shorted. Still, I think when I saw them they were only like 6 bucks. Wish they had a version that was a touch larger.

Those little tarps are the bomb. If you girth hitch a loop of bungee cord in the grommets for tie-outs, they can take some pretty good wind too.

tradewater can flip a snake 27 yards.

When I was talking to the former owner of the cabin, he said a guy could sell the granite on the land, and pay for the cabin. Is granite worth that much? There's granite there that has a pinkish color to it.

Probably. Everybody loves 'em some granite counter tops. Thing is, what will they have to do to the land to get it?

Do yourself a favor. Don't set you buck saw on a shelf above your head where it will fall down and leave a nasty gash in the side of your head. Luckily I didn't get a nasty gash in the side of my head, only three really good scratches that didn't bleed much.

Almost had a MountainMist moment there. :D I'd better go put some PB on it.

That is a cryin' shame! There should be a law requiring more diversity in bread... We mostly eat Milton's multi-grain bread from Sam's Club, but usually have 3 or 4 different varieties of bread floating around the kitchen.

Mow the lawn, mow around the north gate in the pasture, clean out an area at the edge of the yard for my wife to put in a chicken coop. I'll be using a new toy to clean out the brush and other stuff.

Bread machines make terrible bread in my opinion. The loaves are too weirdly shaped. I started just using mine to make the dough and then put them in loaf pans in the over to bake. Then I bought a Kitchenaid stand mixer with dough hook, and that works fabulously!

Quoted for truth. I did this to my wife once, and weathered a twister....

Your wife has grommets? Or do I misunderstand?
