Yesterday after I got home from work we packed up the family and headed to a lavender farm. http://www.weirslanelavender.com/ The place was beautiful and smelled amazing. They are trying to increase the population of honey bees locally. It was really cool to talk to one of the ladies there 'Barb' about all their different efforts to increase the bee population. They had over 20 different species of pollen producing plants on site in order to support the bee population. Their specialty is lavender products. They have this really nice hemp/ lavender hand cream that works pretty well on my cracking / dry knuckles.

The kids had a blast running around the entire place up and down the hills and checking out all the different plants / bugs / smells. I ended up leaving my phone in the van so I didn't get any pictures. The link I posted has better photo's then I could take. Fun times

Tradewaterin up and down them mountains it looks like! Great pic!

Wife in the kitchen making me a BLT. Damn that bacon smells good.

So i got a pair of 5.11 and 24/7 pants in..... As well as the Sawyer permithirin spray stuff as well.. Sunday delivery by the USPS... Still was free shipping...

I like the 5.11s better because of how they fit. Both pairs are 30X32 but the 24/7 pants fit a little tight in the waist. The 5.11s fit excellent.

I still like the back pocket better on the 24/7s though, but other than the back pocket i think the 5.11s win for me. There is more room in the crotch area and feel more comfortable when kneeling, kicking etc.

Was messing around with my new opinel last night when the I guess the lock moved and the blade closed, damn that knife is sharp, pretty deep cut but I don't think stitches are neccesary

At work they decided that they wanted us to wear a "uniform" of sorts, and they decided on 5.11 clothing. The Stryke pants are what we all ended up with, and they are hands down some of the most comfortable pants I have ever worn.

Been really interested in the 5.11 pants and stuff... but I am too much a blue jeans kinda guy. However I think they would be good "khaki pants" substitutes for work like you are saying Derek.

Sweet,

WW you just sold me on some 5.11's :D

I dont think you will be disappointed at all bud!! They are some great pants.

I have the TacLite Pro pants from 5.11, definitely very comfortable!! I think ill check out the Stryke versions in the future as well. I told my wife i think im done buying jeans now LOL

I do like the Tru-Spec pants as well, but they fit tighter... Almost feel more like dress pants than pants im comfortable kicking down doors in while wearing crocks :D

Had some more "River store" gift card money to spend, and i have been drooling over this light for a while.. SO i went ahead and jumped on it since its not coming out of pocket... Because when money comes out of my pockets is hard to let it go for something thats NOT sharp LOL

"Tactical tail switch", haha. :D

Hey WW, thanks for reccomending the e12, picked one up this week and it is an awesome light

Your very welcome bud, and glad you like it!! I love Fenix!! I dont have a huge amount of experience with all the different brands or anything but i have always liked everything about Fenix.

Im giving my wife my E11 with the kydex neck sheath now that i have the PD35 coming in. She claimed it as soon as i mentioned a new light LOL

"Tactical tail switch", haha. :D

The tail switch is actually a big selling point with me on flashlights.

Not that its "tactical" but because of the momentary on by barely pressing the button.

I know its not hard to press the button 2 times real fast to turn it on and off.. But its quicker and a little easier when you just need to see something for a second. Thats mostly how i use my fenix E11 is with the momentarily on "feature"

I like the end buttons too, but it cracks me up when these companies use the word "tactical" as a selling point. :D

HAHA :D Me and my father was talking about that earlier today!!!

Everyone wants to say everything is "Tactical" these days.... "hey check out this tactical toilet bowl" "its soft on your rear while watching your rear" :D

Haha, I know, it's ridiculous. I do get a kick out of it though. You know there's those people out there that buy it just because it says tactical, haha. I should get a laser, start purchasing items, engrave tactical, and resell. I could be a millionaire. :D

we have some 5.11 stuff in our uniform catalog - t-shirts and socks, and recently boots were added, ordered a pair as soon as I saw them. Their shirts and socks have proved to be comfortable and able to take a beating. Dunno who is making the bdu pants and shirts now as the labels have been replaced with the uniform company name.
