Peanut question

I think the lightning bolt S only applies to Tru-Sharp, luckily 154CM is usually indicated by either price, listing, or if the knife is a Bose collab - as from what I've seen (and please correct me if I'm wrong on this) Tony Bose tends to use a lot of 154CM in his collabs with case.

The exception that I mentioned was in reference to the quote that GT posted from the Case College. According to that quote, and if I'm reading it correctly, even 154CM knives should have a lightning bolt S which is not the case with my two collab knives.

Here's my Slimline Trapper in Jigged Delrin. As has been pointed out, 6 denotes bone or jigged synthetic.

Quite few of the delrin models come with the matte brushed blade rather than polished. For all the interest and speculation over the letter 'S' a very simple method will tell the OP if it's cv or stainless, just cut an acidic fruit with it! Since it is hardly a rare item a bit of patina will do no harm and can anyway be removed with polish.

Actually 6 I think it means jigged material being it bone Delrin or wood

I guess I should read the whole description. That's what happens when you get old. :D

6 - Bone
Procured from Brazil, the shin bone of the Zebu cattle are the main source of bone suitable for Case bone handle materials.

Jigged Synthetic
Plastic molded covers with a jigged pattern.

Jigged Laminate
Laminated wood with a jigged pattern; such as used on the Folding Hunter.

V6 - Vintage Bone
Natural Bone with a special jigging pattern which has similar characteristic to stag.

6.5 - 6.5 BoneStag®
6.5 BoneStag®, a Case registered trademark, is bone handle which is jigged and treated with flame to achieve the look of stag antler material.

I knew that I could count on you guys! Apparently mine is jigged Delrin with a CV blade. Thanks to all!

The Brown Delrin Slimline Trapper must be a popular model. I've got one too with a stainless steel blade.

Here are a couple more examples

This Mini Trapper with stainless steel blades sports the lightning bolt S:

This Pocket Hunter with CV blades sports the regular S:
