Peche Island Get-together (tonnes of pics)

Hey Dougo,

Here are some sites to aid you in your research of the 3 different plants.

Poison Ivy (Toxicodendron radicans)
http://www.illinoiswildflowers.info/savanna/plants/poison_ivy.htm

Poison Oak (Toxicodendron diversilobum)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_poison_oak

Poison Sumac (Toxicodendron vernix)
http://www.duke.edu/~cwcook/trees/tove.html

Verified this weekend with my guide. Toxicodendron radicans is all we have in Texas, at least in the Balconian biotic province. It has two morphological forms, both woody and herbaceous, so at times it can resemble Toxicodendron diversilobum. Basically, we only have one down here...that was my error...

I was in Detroit yesterday and kept looking at the map daydreaming of going hiking here.
Thanks guys for posting this thread. When I'm driving the country I get near places like this and feel as though I've been there through your stories and pictures.

Not hanging by the airport today by any chance are you?

I'll be at the Days Inn in Romulus after about 4:00 pm today if you want to go for a beer.

I wish!
I'm actually in Buffalo today. I'll let you know if I get back there and I'm going to be there a while though.
