Pens and Gents' Knives

Really enjoyed seeing all the knives shown so far

Here are a couple of bunches of gents lobster/knives, all the knives shown were made by either Stan Shaw or his master Ted Osborne for Ibbersons, they mostly date from the 1940s 50s & 60s.

G IBBERSON & Co, SHEFFIELD 4470 pattern, Prince George five piece lobsters.

HRH Prince Andrew has been presented with a knife of this pattern, so too has former US President George Bush (in silver, engraved) when he visited Sheffield.

Beautiful knives Mick. Thanks for posting them for us. Always a pleasure to see some of your fantastic collection.

Thanks for the nice groups, Barry and Mick!
A little sweet history from each side of the pond!

There have been a number of Pen knives brought up in the forum lately so I thought I would drag out this older thread and add a few. All are Sheffield manufacture and fall 3" or less. A wonderful pattern often forgotten today.

Very cool Brad, wow especially that "50th Anniv" knife from 1914!!

Thank you sir.

And that knife has far more spectacular pearl than my pics can display. If you go back 25 years from this knife you will find that the top Sheffield makers had very little respect for any cover material that was not what we today would call exhibition grade, even on common knives. As I think was mentioned earlier the Pen pattern occupied a much more preeminent position than today.

How about the fine Canal Street Cutlery 2006 Bladeforums knife. Sorry I don't have a pohoto showing the nailfile very well
