I didnt know the strider was fake until i posted a pic of it at a
knifeforum then i ofcourse wouldent have sold the sar6 when i found
Out the sar6 was already sold i told him so i asked him if he had other solution
such as give me another knife money or if he had other suggestions
he wanted a new sar 6 or 468$.His sar6 was heavily used and far from new. Yes when i told him ive found out
hes been selling fakes to more people he sent me a merry christmas nothing
Else havent heard from him since. You have to forgive my poor english but Im not the bad guy here sir.
I belive everybody would be mad when fooled like this.
 
I'm not accusing you of being a bad guy, just trying to understand what happened:

Do you have copies of the emails, are they in English and can you post them here?, (never mind I read post #10)

Let me back up a minute, was this deal done through the blade forums exchange here or was it on some other forum?

Did he list the knife in question as a legitimate strider or was his description intentionally vague, could you post the trade thread in question?
 
The trade was not through bladeforum
i got to know him on a swedish site called tradera.se
Its like ebay in sweden. Bought a knife from him
We started mailing he invited me to his home this was long ago we have
Keept contact i then recently asked him if he had any fine folders he had this
Strider and yes he sold it as a real genuine strider
the trade took place at his house. I have all the mails but they are in swedish.
I mean as soon i posted his mails on the swedish knifeforum
people reconised them immidatley and told me he had sold
Fake benchmades.
 
If I bought a Strider from someone and found out months later I would still demand some type of correction. aright or left ear would suffice, or a real Strider.

Selling a fake is low, low slimleball low and requires the seller fix it ASAP. If not he then earns the title of POS THIEF..............
 
then you be on that site not this on complaining. you should not of sold the other knife until you where happy with all of the knifes to you got.
 
Complaining ? I wanted to give all on this forum a heads up about this man so he wouldent ripp off somebody here.
But by all means you trade something with him im not forcing you to take my advice but i wonder if this happened to you if you would have the same feeling then. Would not have sold the other knife if ive known strider was a fake. It wasent me how spotted that it was a fake, all is here to read if you take your time and read it through.

Yes, he should be on this site warning(he's not complaining) us of a member HERE that is selling/trading fake Striders.
Also, he has already mentioned he sold the SAR6 before he knew the Strider was a fake. He only found out it was fake when he posted pictures.

Thanks for stoping it before he could even try it here.

And you're right about him wanting WAY to much for a used SAR6.
I think about all you can do now is to follow up with the police as you have planned.

The fact the second knife was sold is irrelevant. The Strider was not recognized as the counterfeit it is for some time after the sale. I have collected for 20 years and recently discovered a knife gifted me was a superb counterfeit. People get fooled by fake watches all the time, why not knives?
 
This comes as a warning for all fellow BF'ers and knifenuts, this man is a scammer and will try to fool you. Please be aware so it doesn't repeat. Marry Xmas and have nice continuation of your holidays.
 
Is there a single thread in the GB&U where it lists questionable people for trade/sale, a thread that just lists name's, no comments but a link to the specific GB&U thread in question this would make it easier to see if someone with a questionable history were trying to make a deal. At least this would give you a heads up and the ability to pull up the associated threads.

It's no substitution for reading the threads but when you see someone has been mentioned you can dig a little deeper into it before making a trade.
 
There is a trend of people getting ripped off on other sites and complaining on BF. I understand the anger, but the BF mods have enough to do managing BF deals gone wrong. Just my opinion.

I do not disagree with the above statement. In addition, I will say that there are multiple moderators watching this very closely, myself included.

Again, he is not complaining. He is giving us a warning about a Blade Forums member that is selling fake Striders.

Why do you think he shouldn't warn us about a Blade Forum member that is selling fakes ?

It isn't putting more work on our mods at all. If anything it will help them if they see the guy trying to sell fakes here.

Thanks to Greven I now doubt we or the mods will have to worry about this guy.
Since this thread was started I highly doubt the guy will try it here.
We should thank people for helping to stop the selling of fakes before a BF member has a chance to do it here.
Again, the guy that is selling fakes is a member HERE.

If he had not started this thread the guy probably would have tried it here.
This thread stopped that, and I can't understand why some can't understand that, and thank Given for this thread.
