People must really love their Beckers!

Been interested in getting a bk2, bk22, and/or a bk10 and I like to buy used sometimes as you can usually get a great deal and if you don't like something can usually sell it and recoup your funds. I have no need for fixed blades, but I can't help but be drawn to the Beckers! Problem is I can't find anyone selling any used! Do people love them so much they never let them go?

I'm considering selling a knife or two and picking up a couple Beckers if I decide I can't hold out any longer. They are reasonably priced new anyway, I just like getting a good deal!

You don't see as many Beckers sold used I assume because they are a great value and most Becker owners use their knives.

If you are patient they come up for sale now and the but usually sell quick as most are priced fairly. Good luck in your search ... if you like good tools at a good value you will enjoy Beckers.

Because, once someone uses a becker, theres no sense in selling it.

You can find some for sell that are unused but thats because the person bought multiples at some point.

Sometimes a person may buy a bk2 and realize they really dont like the weight so they will hardly use it and put it up for sale. Other occasions someone might sell their bk10 because they gave no use for it when they also have a bk2.

If I was to do it all over, I would start with a BK7 (my second Becker). Generous blade length while still being nimble enough to do fussier stuff.

You'll end up with at least 6 more Beckers (I have 15 or 16) in no time, anyway.

Resistance is futile.

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Of the options you're currently considering, I recommend the 10 unless your plan is to pound the knife through oak logs regularly.
They're already a good deal at new prices.

Wow, didn't get any notifications about replies... Haha!

I'm pretty much resigned to the fact I will have to get a new one. They are affordably priced already, and I have a few knives I can let go to acquire a few. I'll start with selling one, and see how my Becker acquisition goes! Lots of nice looking models for sure!

As I said before, I really don't need a fixed blade, but I do love good tools and having a stout knife or two in the stable is not a bad idea. My folders can handle most tasks but you never know, right?

I like the bk-2 and bk-10 because of size. 5.25 blade, 10 inches overall. Not too big, not too small. I have a hatchet so I don't need a chopper or something to baton with but, once again, you never know. Bk-2 is thicker, and I love the blade profile! Bk-10 is lighter and might slice better?

You're right, I'll probably just get both! Bk-2 first and 10 later? Much to think about!

I also had trouble deciding 2 or 10. I bought the 2 think id buy the 10 soon enough after. I still don't have one. I still want one but i also have knives with similar dimensions. Some day ill come across a good deal on a camillus bk10 and then ill have one

I found a Camillus Bk2 on ebay... For $400! I don't think that's realistic. I'm sure it's a fine knife but I've seen others for 120. However a new Kabar is 80 or so, and I don't think the Camillus is going to appreciate, especially if you plan to use it and even if it's not often I will use it.

Also there is the option of the Ritter RSK BK12.....
You might not know about?
I like it's blade shape.....although I don't have one myself.

I keep telling myself, if I could Only have one Becker that would be it!

Seems like it would be tough to get ahold of... And expensive when it is available! I do like it though!

The "BK12" was more expensive than the BK7 while it was in production. There are occasional deals; but most seem to sell for at least their retail price.

I've got a BK2 that I rarely use. The 10 has never interested me (I did buy a Camillus 10, as a collection item), though it seems well liked by many.

I have to say I really like the 2's blade. I'm going to be trying to offload a knife this week and then order up a 2. Then possibly sell another for a 10, or another model.

I love this hobby. So many choices!

The bk2 is great for splitting wood. Its like a splitting wedge with a handle. While its also an exceptional knife.

Id say get the 2 and then get the bk62 or bk9 next followed by an 18 or 16

Start with what started it all, the indestructible BK2. Then the king, BK9. Then a BK14 for the little things in life. Then a BK16 cuz nothing goes with the BK9 better. That will cover all your needs but eventually you will still want to try others.

You mean a BK9.

I'm going with a 2 first. We'll see if I can get a knife sold in the next couple days and turn it into another knife or two! I'm excited! The only other fixed blade I had was an Ontario sp1, and I wasn't impressed with it. Maybe I just got a bad one?

Geometry is what cuts. The BK-2 is more of a hatchet in a knife shape. The BK-10 is plausibly a knife. 3/16" thick (BK0-10) is still SUBSTANTIAL. I do get that some prefer the profile of the BK-2. Even I do, but I don't field dress Buicks. And honestly... a BK-10 will probably go through sheet metal easier because (you guessed it) it's thinner.
