People must really love their Beckers!

Congrats on quitting! Its been 13 years myself. All this time i didnt know i could celebrate each year with a knife. Ive got A lot of catching up to do! I usually tell my wife, “its been like 3 whole weeks... well except for that other knife, but that doesnt really count”

Never too late to start! :D all the money saved not smoking goes to knives. I mean, at least it's not just getting burned, and they're useful tools! Win win!

Thank you! I hate that I didn't get it a few weeks ago while me and my father in law were tearing out trees and old fence in the back yard. Sure he used a backhoe to tear them down, and we used a chain saw to cut them up, but it would have been fun to keep some of the wood to test the knife on!

I'm sure I'll be able to find somewhere to have some fun with it. Maybe I can do some meal prep in the kitchen... Sure I have kitchen knives but I've got to do some tests, right? :D

That's cute, he thinks the BK-2 is a kitchen knife. :p
if your cutting board is too big, it'll split it right down to size for ya!

We expect pix when it arrives, and all sort of tom-foolery!

Pix will of course happen. Tomfoolery will happen as well... What's the fun of having a sharp piece of steel if you can't have fun with it? :D

Didnt catch the kitchen knife part. Makes me want to hand the inlaws the bk2 next time camping when they need something to slice tomato. It might be amusing but it would be better than the dull knives they use.

Here she is! I love it, really feels like it can do some work! Everything I saw or read said it's a heavy knife, and you wouldn't want to carry it while hiking... Its really not that heavy. Put this on your belt and you won't even feel it. I already have a few limbs on a tree I'm planning to take out, and this will be more fun than using a pair of clippers. Looking forward to it!

Super easy to sharpen. It was sharp out of the box but it wasn't sharp enough. My spyderco medium stone worked quickly on it. Only negative seems to be the sheath. It dulls the blade. I've read about that being a problem, any solution for it, or do I just need to get a better one? It's not that bad but I'm sure it's cumulative and I'll have to touch up the blade a lot because of it.

Yep, I'm sold. I love my folders but this will go with me whenever we go out to the parks and hike around. I want to carry it all the time but I think my wife would have something to say about that! I did hand it to her and ask if she wanted to do some kitchen work with it and she said it was too heavy and the handles too thick. I'll still use it... :D

Thinking about stripping the coating as well. We'll see how I feel about that later...

I'm swapping out the scales on mine with awesome looking red/black micarta.

Still having a heck of a time deciding on a sheath. Frankly, the one it comes with ain't bad at all for my purposes.

Nice! No tomfoolery today. Been working on getting the new fence up, ran out of quick crete, had to redo a previously installed post... I was soaked. I hate humidity in the south!

Born and raised in Pensacola, Florida, spent my summers in high school working outside on a surveying crew.

Fun job for a dumb kid who didn't know any better.

The old pros told me, "Never go into the AC once we start the day."

The old boys were right.

once you get acclimated to the outside temp, going into the ac you freeze and can go into shock. way too cool way too fast. i go in once in a while to get some liquids, but dont spend much time inside. once i do, and i dry off, im pretty much done for the day. being soaked, then frozen...yea its not fun.

I did not know that, i'll have to go compare them.
When I bought my camm. version, kabar hadn't started making the 10 yet.
I shy away from the camm stuff when there's a current version from kabar available.
I've personally seen 2 camm bk 9's break during use that shouldn't have broken them.
Really?...:D Who did it?....
Haha

I busted one of those Camillus 9’s.
It was on of my favorite knives. A little thicker than the current Kabar offering. It felt “hefty” compared to to the Ka-bar. But it broke. Ethan Becker was on hand to witness the terrible event. He sent me a laser etched BK-9 as soon as he got home. Customer service? Uhh yeah. The laser etched BK-9 from KaBar has held up to everything I’ve thrown at it. :D
