People pay more attention to brands rather then materials and craftsmanship

Often times the OP will try to make a point and use an example to support his point.

Sometimes that example is worded wrong, off base, or just wrong in itself, but the underlining point is still there and correct.

I believe the OP has a point, but his example was just dead wrong. People decided to jump on his example instead of listening to his point.

For example, some people jump on a single word used incorrectly, the grammar of the post, or the ideology of a perspective all while missing the point.

People here on the forum are wolves that smell blood and attack at any given chance. The OP, not all, but often gets offended sparking a typing battle.

Next thing you know Wine & Cheese is filled with who is melting down now and other strife filled agendas.

Anyways,

Just google brand loyalty. The OP has a point

The op has an agenda against benchmade. That was his point.

People need to worry about what they want to carry and what they like, not what I choose t base my purchases on.

I don't see it. I read a poor example given to a good point. Just as people are brand loyal to one they can be disloyal to another. He may ironically be proving his own point in his disloyalty.

I don't like the Op based on his recent threads but his point, the way I read it concerning brand loyalty,
is true.

I can't speak for others but these days, I pay attention primarily to design first, materials second, and company in distant third*. I have knives made to be beat on if I need that to happen, so these days if I buy a knife, it's because I liked the design, and the materials.

*With a few exceptions. I will not buy anything from Strider, and I do not buy Chinese knives.

I beat the crap out of my Protech's.
Incredible quality, incredible brand.

This thread was left open bc/ it had the potential to talk about a topic of relevance, brand loyalty.

However, this forum has a group of individuals who stalk threads to debate and give further evidence of their own agenda. These individuals are pompous and often makes things worse off than the op with an agenda.

We could have discussed the topic of loyalty while ignoring the example given and even the OP could we not?

Who cares so much to post some of things posted when someone does post an agenda filled thread. None of are mods and some of need to stop acting as such just bc we can't communicate past a potential offensive topic

Brand loyalty exists, sure. Yet, do the brandies buy solely on the name or do they actually like the materials and craftsmanship of what they are purchasing? I'm going to say no, they wont. If you are interested enough in a hobby to be loyal to a certain brand there will be a reason that you like that brand.

Now people who are not at all interested in collecting or talking about knives and just want a knife to cut with will purchase based on brand and or cost.
