Perfect EDC?

Sounds like your chasing a dragon my friend. Once you start the craving is hard to subdue. When I get hooked on a hobby I generally find (not always) but generally find the thing you pick up towards the beginning of your collecting is usually what your really interested in. After compulsive buying comes into play you get this idea in your head that "yea, I should try that out" or "oh, that would be great for x,y,z" end of the day its all BS and reasoning we give ourselves to justify buying stuff. God knows I had a bad case of the gun fever for years. I ended up buying and selling guns more often then I went shooting.
Knives in a similar sense . Lets say you decided you want a "hiking knife"...you buy one and all the stuff you read, every bit of knowledge you found deems this Good for Hiking.... but on NO! Now you decided a special knife for hiking is needed that is better suited for splitting wood and batoning.. yes new purchase Im all set. OH, OH no now we need something for fine detailing and shaving... oh, what about a filet knife. Yes, I need one of those as well. It never ends....

So lets not kid ourselves with the "perfect" knife. If there is such a thing its probably a medium size "under 3 inch but bigger then 2.5" blade. Made of a decent steel, rust resistant, opens quick, has a solid lock up, decent traction and MOST importantly makes you happy. I love wave openers (spyderco only..not a emerson fan...anymore) so my ideal knife I guess is Delica4wave. Great size, blade steel, weight, color and it opens beer bottles!....
Do I carry it..No not really but before I got knife crazy I carried it for several years never wanting or needing more in a "EDC". I like the Endura size now, Kinda prefer larger knives or smaller ones and have several knives in my rotation.

Just ask yourself this. If you could only have 1 knife. any 1 knife. the first one that pops into your head will probably be the one you want most regardless of a list of reasons why its the best.

Good luck

For you I would recommend you get a kershaw skyline, they can be had for 30 dollars.

That's a nice looking carpet...
