Performance of BF lately

In the last week or so I have been getting "Waiting for bladeforums" regularly. Sometimes the delay is 30 to 45 seconds. Also I get "Waiting for bigboard.stats" or something like that as well.

Anybody else or is just me?

You could probably blame the Hogs for that one, why they just don't have a set "Go" time is beyond me, especially when they have a set go time as an alternate if the forum jams up. It might be fun and games for hogs but is a bit annoying for all the other members.

Looks like I might have to shut search down for non-paying members to ease up on the server load for a bit.

Paying members should have first dibs on server. Shut it down for freeloaders.

Why do they continue to let Busse Combat shut down the server? They have their own web site to run their ganza, why are they allowed to use the BF site when it seems to cause problems for everyone?

I'm not even sure what this "ganza" is, honestly, I never seem to be online when it happens. That said, certain times are going to bring high traffic, and insanely high traffic means server overloading.

For those who are interested, turning off search for non-paying members seems to have reduced the load by 2/3 to 3/4.
