Well there are a few more things I had planned on doing and some aspects I am not happy with but, I do this mostly for fun and it was not much fun anymore. I have to be realistic with my skill level too. Don't get me wrong, overall I am pleased and I will do another that's for sure. But this one is done! Tomorrow I'll try and get better pics if the sunshine cooperates. This is a take-down so I'll also get a pic of it in pieces. Specs are:

Blade length: 8 3/4” OAL: 14 3/4”
Grind: Hollow
Steel: 1075/1080
Handle: Bloodwood
Guard: Mild steel (1018) blued
Fittings and spacers: Brass, Mild steel (1018) blued and stainless steel.

Thanks for looking!

Wow Patrice, that Guard is amazing. Has nice Hamon, that grind must have been a serious headache. I would love a closer look at the detail of the Insert in the pomel/butt. I can't remember a Persian I liked better. Nice work.

Are you kidding me?? You did ONE HELL OF A JOB!!!! Congrat's.

Pretty good... except for that stain on the blade. You can wipe that off with steel wool, you know! ;)

WOW Patrice... very cool. I think this is the best I've seen from you to date. I am really impressed with the detail in the guard and the accent on the handle "curl". I'm sure that you're seeing flaws that we can't from the pictures... but from where I'm standing, I'd chalk that one up as a success.
Erin

edit: Can you provide some more detailed shots of the guard?... I'm really interested in seeing what you did there.

I'm sure it was a tough one, I can't even fathom doing a grind like that!

The thing is, you made it look easy. :D

I don't know what you aren't happy with, its a pretty darn sexy knife to me. I guess we are our own worse critics.

Really, really nice work:thumbup:

WOW! That's something I've always wanted to do. I'm still
not able to but you are. Good for you!

Okay, Patrice,

Enuff already! First you publish a great tutorial on Gimp, and now you've made what can only be described as a Great knife!

Seriously, that is some real nice work. Great job, great knife. Oh, and thanks for the turorial too:)

Dave

Patrice, that is positively fantastic! Holy cow did you nail this one... the choice of materials, the execution, the scale and dimensions. I wish I had your eye for design. Really looking forward to more pictures, especially the take-down shots.

Congratulations man, this is really great work!
