well done Patrice. This is about the most difficult knives you could have picked to make. The re-curve top grind is nearly imposible to do smoothly on a square wheel, you must have rounded yours and used a narrow belt? The take down is a mystery to me, cant wait to see the photo of the parts.
The hamon is so cool and the lathe turned guard tips are perfect. You pulled it all off beautifully.
Holy cow!! You did a fantastic job on this. Overall it's got lots of points of interest that upon closer look show just how complex they are, and how well done they are.
That blade though... Man that is some sweet sweet grinding.
That is one gorgeous piece of steel. As a collector and not a maker, I can't even imagine the skills needed to produce this. But I do know a good knife when I see one. My first thought was "For Sale??". I assume not. I hope it is headed for a good home. It deserves it.
I understand what you mean about not being satisfied. Who is ever truly satisfied to perfection with their work? As the maker you always know were the flaws remain.
I personally appreciate the beauty of this piece, and think you should be proud of work at this level. Nice job.
When you find the time attempt it again trying to nail any issues you missed (that I cannot see) this time.
You know Patrice, the thing i like most about you is your humble personality. That being said...Absolutely amazing job!!!! That is one seriously SEXY knife! You are a true inspiration my canadian friend, cant wait to see what is to come. Your new sig should read: Patrice Lemee, I bring the sexy.
