Sorry for not responding sooner; I just checked and the server appears to be working properly (of course, they always do when I'm trying to reproduce a problem).

It would speed my investigation if you could provide more detailed information about the problem. Could you describe what happened and what you had done right before it happened?

Feel free to contact me if you want to discuss this problem further.

WooHoo! My new baby is here. =) The custom job did a wonderful job with the knife. This is a gorgous knife but begs to be put to work so I will be putting into the rotation tomorrow. Looks like I will have to get another one ordered soon. To any one thinking of ordering a knife from the custom shop. Do it!!! hahaha you will not be dissapointed.

Billy and Dana made me a Hawaiian Koa and BG-42 knife as a going away gift. Its sweet. The Koa is slated for the PCKS so get on Pete to add it in. Its in stock. I'll try to get a pic up sometime. The Koa has a natural ripple when polished that goes across the grain pattern. The combo of the grain and ripples is Sweet.

Wow! I just got my Custom 110 yesterday from Pete's. What a beauty!

BG-42 steel with "Kodiak Alaska" engraved on the left face of the blade. Very professional engraving. Ni Silver bolsters, finger grooved Asian Buffalo Horn scales without rivets and my initials in the rear the left bolster. The fittings are tight as a drum. No wobble of the blade and excellent lock up. All for less than $120!

I think Pete's Custom shop is the most inovative idea I have seen in the production knife market ever!

Mr. Buck: Thanks for allowing this. You represent the customer like no others....Buck has proven that the customer is first in thier books by having a shop such as Pete's and a staff that obviously knows what they're doing..

Pete & staff: Outstanding....thanks for a keepsake that will be able to be passed down for generations. The turn around time and communications were great.

If you haven't checked out Pete's shop yet I recommend you do.

I just recieved my Custom 110 last week too. I agree, it's a beautiful knife!

Greg, like you I got the buffalo horn scales with nickel silver bolsters and BG-42 blade, but without the finger grooves. At first I was hesitant to order the buffalo horn since I already have plenty of black knives. But what you can't tell from pictures is how well the black scales goes with the silver bolsters! No regrets whatsoever! The knife was put together perfectly and the blade came extremely sharp. This is my first 110, and I like the solid feel of this knife. One minor nitpick is that the backspring is very stiff and hard to unlock. But I'd rather have it too hard to unlock than too easy.

The only recommendations I have is that it would be nice to get some sort of e-mail confirmation that the order was received. Also, I'd like to see some of the more exotic hardwoods like cocobolo or desert ironwood offered.

If you are sitting on the fence about ordering one, do it! I think this is a great idea to come along for production knives!

Alan,
Nice post.

Just wanted to let the folks know that the engraving the shop does is very well done and not gawdy at all. I had 12 letters put on the blade and at first I regreted doing that since that is an awful lot of letters....but the font was very pleasing and it didn't look gawdy at all and it seem to fit in perfectly onto the balde.

Thanks,
