I went ahead and shipped prior to payment because I've had really good dealings with forum members so far. Feedback trails will bear this out.

After not receiving payment from phantomdave, I contacted him via email and received a reply that the item had been received and the matter would be attended to.

That was on March 1st. On March 14, I still hadn't received payment, so I emailed again with my address in the event it had been lost or was missing info.

Today, March 20, it's been an additional week and I still haven't received a reply to emails or VM's.

I hate to see a forum member get some tarnish on their name over a $10 item.

That is one reason why I wouldn't ship before I get a payment

That is ridiculous,over a $10 item. Some people just don't seem to get it.

I've been amazed by past GBU showing how some people are willing to sell their integrity for $100-200. But $10? That's beyond pathetic. :thumbdn:
 
I don't think it's the value that makes it pathetic or more pathetic

I personally think any kind of immoral decision is pathetic
 
What pi$$es me off about guys like that is it ruins it for guys like me and many more who would have that payment out to you IMMEDIATELY.
I had two knife companies recently, one trusted me and one didn't. It bothered me that the one did not but it was probably because of DB's like this guy.
Sorry about your unfortunate experience.
 
This goes beyond pathetic. It is truly immoral. When everything is all said and done all we have as human beings is our honor and morals. How truly disgusting that anyone would sell the only things that are truly their's for any price
 
This is exactly why I don't ship until I have received payment. But at least you are only out $10. I learned this lesson at a slightly higher price.
 
Well, despite an email around the end of the month (25?March) stating a payment would be put in the mail the following day, I still have yet to receive anything to date. Negative feedback still stands.
 
Still have yet to see any form of payment or communication other than a couple of requests to sign up for his LinkedIn network.

His last activity here, on BFC, was 04-28-2011 @ 10:41 AM.

For some, $10 is like $10,000,000. Still makes him a punk. . . . .and thief!

Post all of his contact info - first and last name, mailing address and telephone # (if you have it).

If you used USPS, I'd contact them and have them begin mail fraud action. While only a $10 item. . . .it would be worth the effort to make him sweat. :D
 
So his integrity and reputation was only worth $10?? REALLY?? That is sad how he screwed someone like this, especially Alan!!
 
not tryin' to play devils advocate here, but has anyone gotten ahold of him? there might be a reason why he didn't pay yet (forgot...we've all forgotten things before :D) im not saying what happened wasn't a big deal, but we shouldn't crucify someone if we don't know the whole scoop on the situation. but then i pay for items immediately after getting the "send payment here" email. just my .02c

I think we're justified in crucifying him in this case. ;) Like others have mentioned, he's been active on here recently. Also, AKC has left him multiple visitor messages requesting communication/payment, which he has obviously seen since he posted -- more than 5 weeks ago -- that he would mail "it" (I assume the payment) in response to those messages.
 
i stand corrected sir...i didnt know if he had been active or just dropped off the planet...i had a pending trade do that, but luckily it was before i mailed him anything. so were gonna have us a good old fashioned stoning then? perfect...now where did i keep that torch? ;)
