I been carrying the Kabar Phatbob for over a month now, and I have completely abandoned my usual rotation. It has become my one and only folder carry since I got it. Its that good.

The only draw back for me, is the Taiwan thing but the quality of the knife is far superior to what one would expect. The grind is spectacular, and cutting is what this guy does better than anything I currently have. I blame the DEEP hollow grind for that, the edge almost dissapears when you look at it.

Where's Phatbob? I'm a Patriot to the great country, so, you might see a few flags flying around my desk, on my clothes, and on my hat.

For what I do at work, I couldn't have designed and built a better knife. This thing kicks cardboards ass, like no other knife I have used.

If you don't own one, get one, I PROMISE, you won't be disappointed.

Great knife indeed, my only dislike is the clip position...that said, i've been too lazy to drill and tap new holes and re-position it.

Might drill a few holes in the liners to loose a little weight, maybe, if i'm feelin froggy...

I think it looks great but It would also be nice to see it be able have the clip moved for tip up carry as well.

I love this thing. Left it behind this weekend to give my new Becker BK11 a shot but it don't feel right.

Got a piece of mesquite off my tree that's eventually going to turn into new phat bob scales.

I love the blade profile of the Phat Bob it's a great using blade that isn't overly pointy also the Micarta handle add a nice touch of style to the knife.

Ha, read this review, and pulled the trigger on one. The Taiwan thing was difficult for me to get past as well. I went to my local brick and mortar to see if he had any in stock so that I could feel and see the knife. Lo and behold he had like 400 of the d2 versions. FF is great and the knife feels like a tank. I got to hand pick the one that I wanted. I couldn't be happier.

FREAKIN' AWESOME!!!!!! You got so lucky, the D2 version is a good one to have. I have the AUS8, which is fine by me, but I do loves me some D2.

It feels like a tank, but for some reason, carry is just like its not there, and it has that smooth pocket worn finish to it.

I actually washed mine this weekend, I was cutting up some bratwurst (:D), got done and scrubbed the knife down real good, oiled it up, and sharpened it. Like new, and that micarta is nice looking.

OKC isn't that far and I have friends in Edmond...

nthing the photo request, too. there is a sad lack of photos and info on the LE phat bob out there.

i actually just posted a request for one in the exchange. man i love that knife and want one in d2 bad

Here are some shots of the LE. Lock up is rock solid. FF is very nice on the entire knife. Blade grinds are even with a beautiful hollow grind. I can't post dealer info here but if you want to email me I will gladly share all of the info. Here are the pics. Btw it was a $100 bill flat. Well worth it in my opinion.

I'm not really sure if I can post dealer info here but if you want to email me I will gladly share all of the info. Of course if Moose chimes in and says it's Ok I will post it here.

Nope, not OK. Keep it in PM or email form off the forums please.

If I can get this with my Beckerhead number then it's a done deal. My vanilla PB can be my backup/left hand knife.

This dealer has posted some of these LE PBs on BF before, so maybe I can get him to take a look at this thread (or answer his phone :) ). Seems like a few people would like to get one of these NOW, which might make it worth his while to inventory what numbers he's got.

I've read that the scales are black G10 and I've read that the scales are black micarta... sure looks like micarta in these photos. So thanks for solving that mystery. Good photos.

Moose, I know what you mean about it carrying like it isn't there. It's really peculiar. In the pocket you don't notice it. I think it must be because of the lack of any sharp edges.

All I know is that you are responsible for this nonsense. I would have been able to forget about it if your timely post hadn't come along. It was one of those situations where its on your mind but as long as folks aren't talking about it, then it's easy to ignore. Well so much for that attempt. My name is Brandon and I lack the self control necessary to not buy new knives.
