Phil at 2The Hilt

I think some of you guys owe me an apology.I dont take the GBU forum lightly, and if you do a search under my user name you will see I dont slam anyone there anytime I feel like it.Phil and I had a strong dissagreement, where because of his admitted mistake it looked like he was lying to me.A reputable dealer that is caught lying to its customers should be reported to the GBU.This deal has been going on for several weeks, it just climaxed today hence the bad post. He's a dealer, with a lot of friends and he did me wrong, but I still end up getting slammed by all of you because he is your friend? Thats just crap.He figured out his mistake, took care of all problems and Iam completely happy with our deal and would not hesitate to deal with him again.I dont hold grudges, but to come to his defence and slam me without knowing all the facts is wrong.Everthing I stated in my first post is 100% truthfull.I hope you all learn something from this and get both sides of the story before spouting off. Thanks again to Phil for the knife I am really looking forward to getting it, I hope its not lost in a big brown truck somewhere.Peace.
Thanks
Matt

Matt. I can't appologise for standing up for the intergrity of a good friend but I can appologise for adding to anxiety that you went through throughout this misunderstanding. As you said "We could never understand til it happens to us." Again sorry for the extra anxiety!
Mike

Thanks Masterchef, I understand the standing up for his integrity. All is well, the knife actually just showed up, what a sweet little knife! If you have not seen Scott Cooks stuff you should check it out!
Thanks
Matt

Now if we could get a moderator to erase this how thing.

Please.

Phil

this is my point entirely...................
it cant be erased...the original discontent is there before the whole world to see.....as is the one with the guy from Israel.
I TOTALLY understand both parties were upset and thats why they posted....but we need to used understanding and a little patience in these daily trials before we hang good people out to dry.
I apologize for being so harsh....but I am trying to make a very strong point about how this forum is being used. I am NOT taking sides, just want everyone to step back, take a breath, wait a while, and use the telephone. Thanks. :)
I had to wait for a watch for 22 days right before Christmas.....
EVERY SINGLE DAY I got up and told myself...the guy I am dealing with is an honest individual.....be patient......It finally came.. this was on Jan 2nd...........after I had mailed him $1250 on Dec 11th...........to a person I DID NOT KNOW.....but I knew his reputation and we kept in touch throughout the whole ordeal.

In the end.....lets all keep smiling and keep the CROOKS offa here and take care of each other.............OK?????? :p

You can change the titles of the posts though... Perhaps, in a case where it turns out to be more misunderstanding/misommunication/whatever than outright deceit, a post title could be changed to say something more along the lines of "Bad-Misunderstanding" or whatever to clarify after the outcome has been determined.

I think it is a good point that many people will just follow the post titles and maybe the initial part of the thread. Whereas, especially if a post goes over one page, some may not take the time to read through to a conclusion but rather just make a spot decision.

Just a thought as the older software didn't allow this possibility IIRC.

Since it's been fixed, I'll see if I can edit the title.

...or maybe even the first post or ashcan the entire thing? UBB at other places out in the ether seems able to do so....

Never dealt with eitehr Ptaker or 2 the Hilt. Both seem straightforward. If Ptaker takes thre minutes and maybe re-writes via the EDIT function his first post, the next guy wanting to read this will maybe be happy to trade wampum for knifum with either of these guys instead of being scared off.

In any case, resolved and we are all proved follible here, no the least of which my typing and spelling.

We've been having some intermittent trouble editing titles -- looks like Spark tried but it didn't work. I'll give it a try now ... maybe it'll work this morning ... or maybe if I hold my tongue just right as I click the mouse....
