Phil Hartsfield

and having tried 2 R.J. Martin kozukas for the same tasks, I'm here to tell you that the Hartsfields outcut R.J.'s knives by a wide margin. This is not to slam R.J. The Hartsfields have also outcut any other utility type knife I've ever used including Sebenzas, Boye BDS, Lile D2 hunter, etc....The edge on the RJM kozuka would deform rather easily when pushed through large zip-ties and thicker plastics. The larger Hartsfield (Zahid Special) also outcut my CRK Project 1 in the woods, (A2 vs A2) by a huge margin. The Hartsfield edges did not deform and did not chip out. Like Win said, I like the Hartsfield finish and his grinds are fantastic. Hold a Strong Boy in your hand and tell me you don't like it. No Kool-Aid required.

His Blades are tops. No blade has cut better for me than a Hartsfield-Period. Enjoy them.

Ok im a believer, This knife is amazing i cant even start to tell you what ive been able to cut through. Its funny i live in San Diego and when i go places with my Hartsfield around my neck people tend to stare a lot. Sometimes i feel out of place here. haha whatever if they want to think im some killer, cool for them. The other day my friend was doing some work on his house and he had a little electrical problem. The wire sripped and unraveled from the connector. He didnt have a wire cutter on him to clean the wire up so I took my Hartsfield and cutt right through the copper wire it didn't harm the blade at all. Yes the power was off if any of your were thinking about that. But isnt that amazing.

KA,
Are you considering a Hartsfield folder? I realize they are salt but it could be the last folder you'll buy. Did you {push} your kozuka through a phone book yet?

Wow! Phil Hartsfield blade really cut through copper wire? AMAZING!!!

:D ;)

Copper is pretty soft, I hope this can do better than that - I'm sure it can.

Yes, Joss, but the thing is.....the knife was nowhere NEAR the copper wire when it was cut!! knivesanonymous simply thought about cutting the wire, and BAM! it was in two pieces, one in San Diego, the other in Bangladesh.

It is well known that Hartsfield knives physically disrupt the molecular flow of objects once the conscious thought of using it has been transmitted. Very serious stuff, strong medicine, not unlike Guyana Kool Aid.

British Guyana, not French Guyana. If you want to talk smack, at least get your own facts straight...

Edited to suit Patapsco...couldn't find a specific reference, either way.....have a nice day, sunshine!

You dish it out a lot better than you take it Garsson. ;) He who lives in glass houses...

And count me in as a fan of Hartsfield, BTW.

1. Ummmm....you DON'T know me.....I know that YOU are a smarmy pud, but that is about it, not even your real name...figures.

2. Big surprise that you are a fan of Phill, you got a prayer rug too?

STeven Garsson

Smarmy pud? Prayer rug? Relax dude, I just ribbed you a little bit. Don't take it so personally. Why do you need to keep pulling the verbal sword from it's scabbard (see your sig line).

Through your passion for knives, you bring a lot to the table on a site like this. Why the hate man, what is wrong?

Mike,

It's not about ME, BladeForums isn't, this thread isn't, the world isn't....ok? I know that, you know that.

People take shots at me.....I don't know what is kidding or what is an invitation to do battle....the anonymity of the internet makes it difficult to decipher.

It is not hate, it is nature and training. Some people train to jab and cut, and drain an opposing person/viewpoint to defeat over some period of time.

My nature and training dictate a shot or two, and done....get it over as quick as possible, move on.

I appreciate all viewpoints, and the opportunity/invitation to disagree.....it's all good.

glad you are happy with your hartsfield knivesanom. a hartsfield katana is one of the most exciting blades i'vs ever put my hands on.

To all those that own and like Hartsfield knives, I say good for you. That is what knife collecting is all about for me, finding makers that I like and knives that I am proud to have in my collection.

Hey were all friends here. Maybe different in opinion but for the most part we all love knives.
Grobe.... I really like Phil’s stuff he is an astonishing maker. I would love to hold one of his Katanas
Well the last post didn’t seem to make many believers so I’ll give you another one of my experiences with Phil’s knife. I was able to take it through a dry Palm branch in one slice now tell me that’s not hard to do with just any regular knife. Please remember I haven’t even sharpened this knife since I bought it.

bladeandbarrel or kohai, have you guys ever handled a hartsfield blade?? just curious
