Phoenix - ongoing review

She's a beaut!

Jeff

Thanks, Jeff. I used it again today for food prep and realized AGAIN how great it is...sliced my onions and tomatoes like a dream. I've used it for camping too, but most of my stuff these days is near my suburban house here in the Minneapolis area, so it's a lot of cheese and summer sausage cutting (one of my fav snacks!), a bit of whittling (meaning I make a few curls and admire them), and home food prep.
This is John's best handle by far: good shape, fills my large palm, and is damned comfy. I recommend this knife!

great pictures, rockywolf, looks like a true adventuring knife. thanks for sharing them!

makes me want to get out and explore a little, been a while ;)

The Phoenix is a damn fine knife alright.

I had a Skookum Bush Tool and there was no difference in performance between it and my Phoenix so I sold the SBT.

I have a Skookum too. In fact it's my second one. I sold the first, regretted it, got back list and over three years later I receive an email asking if I wanted it. I said yes and I've never used it. Not. One. Time. Overrated.

Overrated fer sure.

Maybe that's what John needs to boost sales..........

A three year wait time.

Perish the thought.

That's what I wish for him...to be so busy that knife making does more than pay the bills.

It will never happen. The magazine ads are doing nothing, not a single inquiry has come from them. I keep hoping people would post pictures of my knives in other parts of BF besides here, might draw some new people to this forum. I`m fully expecting to be making an announcement around September about the future of JK Handmade Knives.
