photo uploading

This could be because:

1. Your pics are larger than the allowed size (max. 100Kb) or
2. Your pics are larger than the the allowed dimensions (max. 800x600) or
3. You have disabled pop-up windows, so you can't see the Manage Attachments pop-up or
4. You have disabled Javascript, so your Manage Attachments button doesn't work.

When I hit the manage attachments button I get a yellow yield sign and an error on page. I do not get the brouse button. I have tried popup blocker on and off. How do I enable Java script if it is off?

Thanks

If you're using Internet Explorer, click on Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, and scroll down a bit. You could also have restricted javascript in Tools, Internet Options, Security. Make sure www.bladeforums.com is in your trusted zone.

Steve,

1. Double click on the exclamation mark and you will get an error message / code. Paste message here. or

2. Try putting Bladeforums in your Trusted Sites zone:

Tools->Internet Security->Security->Trusted Sites then add this website to this zone: www.bladeforums.com

Added bladeforums to trusted sites

I think java is enabled

The error message is

line: 841
Char 2
Error: object dosen't support this property or method
code 0
url Http//bladeforums.com/fourms/newthread.php? do=newthread&f=753

It looks like the WYSIWIG interface is not compatible with your browser (What version and OS do you have?)

Try this:
In your User CP choose Options -> Message Editor Interface -> Basic Editor.

I thought that I could maybe help, but it seems that Cougar Allen and the Svedish Chef have everything under control. ;)

stevenbusch, if they can't talk you through it, nobody can.

It just gets frustrating as it's probably something simple that I am missing.

Still no luck.

I think java is working. It shows Java (sun) is checked use Java 2v1.4.1 for (applet)

Microsoft VM has all 3 checked as enabled
Java Console enabled
Jit compiler for virtual machine enabled
Java logging in enabled

I was able to upload an avatar....the knife I was trying to upload and it now shows next to my name

Steve

Steve,

The offending line is: Line 841: vB_Editor['vB_Editor_001'] = new vB_Text_Editor('vB_Editor_001', 0, '753', '1');

To me this means that the vB_Editor object is causing all other scripts to fail on that page.

Did you try changing your editor from Standard Editor to Basic Editor and / or holding down the Shift key and clicking Refresh?

yes I changed to basic editor, have tried shift update. I loaded a picture next to my name ok. I have tried to reply to my original makers folder for sale to add pictures, no luck. I have tried to add a fixed blade for sale but no picture options work.

Steve

Steve,

I'm all out of ideas. I hope you get sorted soon. I will post back here if I get any more ideas.

Thanks,

I sent pictures to the moderator to see if he can load them via a reply to my thread. I will try to see if I can find another computer to try it from. The one I have an HP is 2 years old now so probably way outdated.

Steve

I think I may know the problem. I think it is related to javascript. I tried to upload on another site and the error message says javascript:void

I think it is working as I have the following checked as enable.

It shows Java (sun) is checked use Java 2v1.4.1 for (applet)

Microsoft VM has all 3 checked as enabled
Java Console enabled
Jit compiler for virtual machine enabled
Java logging in enabled
Are these the correct ones or am I looking at the wrong things.

I did restart the computer and hit the apply button.

Steve

Java and javascript are two seperate things. Check your security settings and enable javascript if possible.

I have made sure scripting is enabled. I downloaded the scripting software off of Microsoft and installed. I changed my internet security to the default values and did restart the computer, still nada.

On a better note I am sending my laptop in to be fixed and it should be back within 10 days. I guess I will wait to add new maker sales as pictures, as bad as they are speak much louder than no pictures.

Thanks for all the help

Steve Busch
