I had the same problem a month ago. Free account, went to upload pictures and just get an error message. Gave up, opened a Imageshack account , free, pain to use. I guess I get what I pay for.

I am not having problems with it. However, I have an upgraded account that I got for free.

Just went there and it is working fine for me. I had to click on the picture to get the direct link, but it seems to be okay. I've got the free account.
