It's much more substantial than the field knife. I actually might have to see about some of those slimmer scales for this one.

I'll try to get a decent comparison shot of this earlier proto and the D2 later today. And a little better perspective on what this is, a test piece, not the HDFK, but very, very close to it.

To be honest I'm not sure of numerical size but I know I wear an XL in every glove I've ever owned.

Congratulations to ALL of you early adaptors and early recipients of the HDFK-D2 (optimized). I can't wait long enough for my HDFK-D3Vs as I am very, very excited for the arrival of this pattern to join the rest of my CPK patterns.

I ordered 2: one with antique edgecut scales as a "safe-ish" queen and the other with linen maroon micarta handles as a less-than-safe queen. Then it occurred on me that the second one would be totally unsafe queen, so I ordered an extra set of unbuffed black micarta handle scales for that second one which I was a PITA to Jo and asked her to assemble for me and just send me the linen moron ones as an extra set of loose handles. I have come to the conclusion that having an extra set of handle scales for each pattern I own would make a lot of sense
