Gah! oh man....

Wait, why are they b'scaled if they're headed for tumbling?

Those scales come off later.

The first tumble op is done with modified scales to shield the edges of the tang from rounding over. The second tumble op is done in a smaller tumbler with finer media and the scales removed to give a small edge break. The goal is smooth blending without creating too much gap between scales and tang.

Cool, thanks for that!

While searching the local Craigslist ads, I saw a knife handle in the background of a backpack. I thought I recognized it, but said no way....

I emailed the fella and he confirmed my suspicion....and now 110 miles later, I have a Black and Tan set. Though I would hardly call it a set or the same knife. Profile is different and the all the while I thought the "Heavy Chopper" wasn't heavy, but compared to the Light Chopper it's a boat anchor!!! Can't wait to get it out on some woods.

Man, looks like he did some serious polishing to that thing. I think I know who's that is, he's down in BR, right?

Let the bidding war begin, lol. I'd gladly start bidding for another one if it became available, and I certainly know you would, Justin!

Uhhhh Bob... I can't outbid you.... on anything!

Hey, just settin' up the playin' field with scare tactics, LOL.

I would only step in and try if bids were crazy low, which would never, ever be the case, given the lust that's out there for a proto HC. I only need one (though would like them ALLLLLL!).

I think I know what knife that is, and if it is what I think it is, I didn't intended for it to be in circulation, it was a test knife. If the new owner would like it spiffed up you can send it in.

Ok fair enough. I will take the glorious victory now that you have stepped out of the competition!

Nathan, I'm on the phone with Gravelface who is the new owner. This one was polished by the previous owner, in Baton Rouge, said it took him 2 hours to do it! If that helps you.

Yeah, that's the one. If the new owner will send it in I will grind it.
