Yes you bet; Hotshot Top Loader. Made the switch from a cruisers vest finally to a lumbar pack/chest pack combo and it is much better for carrying the 25-40lbs in the bush (regular backpack does not work as well while snowshoeing or climbing around blowdown due to weight placement). Got the idea after re thinking fighting order and going back to webbing vs. Loaded chest rig.

Nice! I'm regularly using a Sweet Pea and 3DAP, but I'm not regularly snowshoeing, lol. Tried snowshoeing once, a while back on a backpacking trip in Glacier. Carried 40-50lbs for a few days in a normal pack. It was exhausting on the snow. I can see how the weight distribution of a fire pack would help with what you're doing. Cheers!

Now I need to get off my butt and form a sheath for it. Good thing I have a good sized scrap piece of kydex sitting here.

You can always hit up GrogMeister for some beginners tips if you don't want to actively venture into the Sheaths & Such Forum. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with :)

EDIT: NONE ARE FOR SALE

I'm new to all of this, and the next time a knife like that comes up for sale would like to buy one.

What is the name of that knife so that I can keep my eyes open for it?

Do I have to pay for a membership to get in on the sale?

That is a 8” Shiv, and no you don’t but it is helpful to be able to privately communicate.
