Pretty sure that one is a black staining polypore but it might have been a young maitake.

The leaf seemed like an appropriate autumn addition. :D

makes me feel all patriotic and stuff

Not to burst that bubble but I think it's actually a type of ivy. :p

But I'll rake up an enormous pile of maple leaves tomorrow, sugar, Norway, amur, silver...all the maple I can find, throw my 3 CPKs on there and snap another pic. :D

Your antique micarta EDC looks great! [emoji106]

Sun just went behind the clouds, I forgot the FK at home, and it's not the pile of leaves I promised. On the bright side, I also found leaves from a black and red maple...so there's that. Go Canada! :D

Very nice.

It's great you are posting so many pics as I'm curious to see how fast the vintage micarta evens out in colour.

nils im confused. Magpul gloves are not vintage so you mean the handles are made from vintage micarta but unbuffed?

If so I'm surprised how light they are!

Yes, you're correct! It's vintage micarta, but not buffed. They're darker than natural micarta for sure, but not super dark. I've not put them to use yet so we'll see how they mature.

Very cool! I look forward to seeing how they age as well. Mine is super dark, seems very stable. The Butterscotch is showing nearly monthly darkening, so comparing the two I think once the vintage takes on that almost coffee darkness it's done.

not a CPK, but since we are now looking at bicycles ( ;) ) thought I'd show my rig off

Very nice Lorien, and that sword is a beast! I recently acquired my bike (last Sunday) and can't get enough of it. It's a 2016 Specialized Stumpjumper 6Fattie with 27.5" mid-fat tires. Absolutely fantastic bike. Also, it's orange so what's not to like?
