My first CPK arrived last last week. Even thought the spartan difensa and UF2 have the same cutting edge length, I was really surprised how different they are. The difensa carries and handles like a big knife, at least to what I am used to using, while the UF2 is much more nimble and, in comparison, a more practical knife for me. I really am impressed with the UF2 and feel like this is some sort of gateway drug to other CPK knives. E755AA83-60EE-4ACD-ABA3-B4C59ABBCCF2.jpeg

The Green Beret that I worked with emphasized that it needed to be light and compact and specifically to be low profile and carry well. They were lugging these all around Afghanistan and didn't need or want something clunky. Also, very importantly, the handle (which is what makes a fighter a fighter) needed to accommodate a reverse grip. I'm not trying to shit on that Difensa, but I can about guarantee you what Jason would have thought of it.

Just received my UF2 Preorder on Tuesday and I can say that I can see the reason for the slight change in the handle. It locks into a reverse grip even better.
