Physical Fitness

Blood work will show what your deficient at that time you get it done. My diet changes daily. How often would you recommend blood work? Vitamin d can be obtained through natural sunlight, I supplement 2000 iu to 5000. Iu during winter months if I'm not drinking the BTT. My bottom line is how you feel. I don't go to doctors really at all, only for self inflicted trauma, hernia, ruptured tendons, and what not. I focus on preventive care more so. I know with out blood work my body recieves all nutrients including probiotics and enzymes on a daily basis.
I just cured my sinusitis with oil of oregano, coconut oil, olive leaf extract. I never had a doctor tell me after a round of antibiotic to replenish my good flora, (good bacteria) in my body. But this is vital to regular body function and immune function. Good luck to the OP with your physical fitness its marathon not a sprint. 😉

Some of us prefer to rely on science. Also, deficiencies don't happen overnight, nor do they go away rapidly. They're generally long term medical issues that are fairly rare. If you don't have one, you're just pissing everything out.

Good luck with your approach.

Body needs vitamins and minerals daily, not weekly, monthly, or yearly. Why wait till it's problematic , then do something. Senseless to me, to each his own. Good luck with your blood work and doctor visits and insurance your just giving your money to the doctors.

I found I was deficient through my doctor a few years ago and haven't stopped taking them since, I know my diet isn't good enough to give me everything I need. Plus the one I take has digestive enzymes and I love them.

Vitalzym are good also, they help reduce inflation in my wrist from a couple fractures when I was running through walls as a younger me.
After the age of 30 our enzymes reduce yearly, juicing fresh fruits and veg or suppliment with enzymes. 👍

Just a personal observation. I used to frequent a heath food store in Santa Barbara to use their water machine. (It was inside and kids couldn't mess with it.) I couldn't help seeing all the sickly looking people buying hundreds of dollars worth of vitamins and other supplements. Obviously, the stuff didn't work. One day I jokingly told one guy who was a vegan that he would do better if he ate a steak. If he had the strength, he probably would have punched me. :D

Seriously, who is it that extols the virtues of supplements? Son of a gun, it's the people who make and sell them. What a surprise.

Over the years I have seen vitamin fads come and go. Vitamin E was supposed to be the new wonder drug in the 90s. Phtttt! It did nothing. Vitamin C. Some is good, too much is too much. Fish oil. Studies have shown that most of the fish oil in those capsules is worthless. You would get more benefits from eating salmon or other oily fish once or twice a week. I'm waiting for the shoe to drop on Vitamin D.

No doubt you have to research and watch what you buy on both sides. like the pharmaceutical business isn't a money making drug pushing business? Look at all the commercials for acid reflux, and all the other commercials. that's a result of a poor diet. What the hell is restless leg syndrome. They must of made a drug up and needed a name just to push it. Lol. I have restless finger syndrome every time someone cuts me off the road.
A lot of the drugs pushed by doctors have side effect, then guess what you need to take another to counter act it. $$$$. Big pharma is by far the biggest drug dealers on the planet.
Doctors are excellent, antibiotics are needed. If I were to get into a car accident or stabbed or shot I hope I'm in the USA. they are number 1 for trauma repair. When it comes to disease control, I believe we can do better. I know some nurses and I ask them a lot of questions. They told me some people have early stages of diabetes and it can be reversed by a rapid change of diet and excercise. They said the patients rather take a pill or injection. They don't listen.

I put my info out here cause it works for me and some of my family members and friends. I've had a lot of success with minor ailments and natural cures. Not everything can be fixed naturally, not everything can be fixed with a pill either.

My only objective to help others who are interested in the subject. Not to start a war over who's right or wrong.

I do cardio every day. That is getting my heart rate over 135 (I am 56yo.) for at least 30 min. Then I do weights three times a week. I stick to 8-10 basic exercises 3 sets of 10-12 bench, curl, triceps, rows, pull downs, crunches, fly, etc. works pretty good for me.

KRAV,

I agree 99%. When I see my cardiologist, I always bring him some medical cartoons. He posts the one in all the examining rooms that says, "Ask your doctor if the medical advice you saw on TV is right for you."

It's true what you wrote about big pharma. On the other hand, some of the drugs they created are keeping me alive. Side effects? What's a little bleeding? ;)

I only wish is to see you happy and healthy my friend and everyone else. I like the cartoon you posted that said something like, well you wanted to add couple more years to your life by eating heathy, and these are it. And the guy is in bad shape hunched over. Lol. Hilarious and probably true.

Here's another one you might like. I see this at the gym frequently. :D

I am a avid gym member, plus I like to live an active life style (hiking, fishing, playing basketball) and not drink a lot.
