I really like the D2 Ka Bar. The lack of the upper guard is a little strange, but does it really detract from the knife? After all the guards are rather puny any way. I can't realisticly see anything less than a three inch guard on either side being really useful? Anyway a top guard really gets in the way when using a knife around the camp site unless it is quite small.
