Is it just me fellas, or do more than half of the pictures of knives posted on this forum look to be knives in pristine condition? I just find it funny how everybody talks big talk about all these "hard use" knives and how much tougher, etc. one design is over another when almost all of their knives have hardly been used!

With that, I'd love to see a thread full of pictures of knives that have been to hell and back with you and are covered with honest, rough, and sexy use!

I believe, in some instances, this apparent phenomenon is less valid than it may seem at face value. It is true that many of us are obsessive about our knives. However, many of these are heavily used, and still look pristine. This is because some of us like to keep our knives clean. We polish out scratches, keep the blades well oiled, sharpen out the chips and rolls, and replace broken parts.

That might just be me though, I know I can be a bit of a nut :)

Not the prettiest pig in the barn, but she'll let me do things to her the others won't!! let's start this off:

Many people take pics of their knives when they are new, and then proceed to use them. They don't always go and take more pics when someone posts one the of the endless "Show me your xxxxxxx brand knife." The pic they post may be two years old.

Good thread. The more scuffs and dirtier, the better.
This one hasn't been to hell and back but put it to work. I need to work my knives harder, and I've been looking for opportunities.
