This is exactly my thoughts of why I didn't vote for red.my thought is many must be worried about two things: 1) pink or light red dye on blood red, and 2) black cherry looks too black.

I’ll hold out hope for white as long as possible, but brown is definitely a win over red in my book (At least on a sawcut Barlow. Not on a jigged bone stockman, though. ).Just for the sake of discussion, let's say I do change my vote to the "lesser of two evils". Should I then consider that a win?
So if we end with a tie ( which I have several of the past couple days) are we going to have a run off election??
But this is me we're talking about...“Compromise” is how most things work out, unfortunately. Rarely do we get exactly what we want, so generally a compromise is a win.
Black Cherry with a Queen Japanese Maple in the background. Some of the dark leaves of the maple are similar in color to the Black Cherry bone.

I’m a brown supporter, but I could get behind that one if red wins.If red wins, all the brown voters should vote for this. It is almost brown as it is. Added to all the red voters that had black cherry in mind…. This is going to be the winner.
Something to consider, as far as i know gec has only done one run of the black cherry saw cut, and the dyes can be pretty inconsistant between different runs (as mentioned, some dyes are inconsistent in the same run). A 2021 black cherry dye can be pretty different than 2016. When there are 4 or 5 runs of the same color, its easier to know exactly what itll be. Not trying to discourage or anything.
No, you consider it not a loss. It's shades of gray, not black/white. If your color isn't going to win at all, then you pick the next one you'd be ok with. If you aren't OK with any of them besides your choice, then you leave your vote and don't buy the knife.I did pick a side...changing my vote isn't going to magically bring white/ivory to the top.

I am inclined to suspect that this might be true. ive witnessed enough red to brown switches (and visa versa) that I believe there’s some shenanigans going on here.I do believe nefarious forces are striving to keep this at a tie......![]()
I dig it dig it. If I knew that would be the result of a red vote, you’d have me switching camps.Blood Red sawcut is fitting for a Barlow. If your knife drawer is mostly brown, vote for Red to add some color to your knife life
