truely I am not trying to pick a fight,, I really want to know.

I have been making knives for seven years and I like the look of Busse knives
but I don't understand why you pay the prices you do for a Busse knife.

please before you pound venom on your key board,,all of us need to start our learning some where and this is my first step.

Hi Paw-bah

Supply and demand. Busse has earned a loyal following with a great product. He is interactive with his market base (payload searches, shows, death chats, etc) and listens to requests and meets some very high expectations with his customers.

It is fun, and I am not even a little piglet.

ya you beter watch out here...i asked a similar question several weeks ago and i think it was morimotom who almost killed me. expect some quick and very informative replies

My friend....if you don't own one then i can't help you to answer that question.

I was asking the same question and got curious and.....i am in debt. :foot:

I can provide one hint: "people are not stupid!"

Folks never worry about the price when they are sure, in their hearts, that they are buying the best. That is why I spend my money with Busse. For my dollar, you don't get a better deal. The knives are the toughest out there, the warranty is outstanding (understatement) and the company is top notch. Jerry Busse is a genuine nice guy and he makes his customers feel like old friends, not many large scale cutlery companies have the relationship with their customers that Busse Combat has. How's that for a civil answer? :D

:confused::confused::confused:

i must resemble that remark!!!

actually, the prices offered by jerry are always very reasonable.

it is the secondary market prices that are inflated. as long as people continue to buy on the secondary market at high prices, they will remain.

Quality, warranty, community.

Pretty much sums it up.

Because with every third knife I get a free "date" with Juicy Ducci:thumbup:

Hi Paw-Bah,

I have to say I was curious about that myself and then I got ahold of some and that was that. They do have a high price point, but no worse than Chris Reeves or many other types of "hard use" knives, and as everyone else has said the company is great to deal with. I only have one right now, but I have a couple of their degenerate offspring Swamprats, and those are awesome as well. Great knives and great service from both companies. I will say I had the chance to beat on my FBM in the jungles of Vieques recently and it stood up to all the abuse I could throw at it, and that was a lot. Gotta love em. He needs to make a machete.

Lagarto.

ok step two,,how are they made??
are they lazer cut,, CNC shaped,,heat treated,,dipped then sold??

sorry mori...wasnt trying to offend anyone. but its true..you almost took my head off

really, think so? i only had one post in your thread and i thought i simply answered your questions.

i had to go back and reread my post. dont recall any other.

and we exchanged a bunch of emails, right?

I will be honest and say i did not read any of the above post except the first, but if you buy busse form the source (company store, Busse web sit) as apposed to secondary market they are not priced that high, plus the warranty is outstanding. You have no name makers charging higher price for knives that have not been proven.

Hi Paw-bah,

I asked my self the same thing a while back. I am a very hands on guy. Call me "doubting thomas" if you will. So I think these are what sold me on Busse knives:

(1) Jerry's unbeatable warranty on his knives.

(2) How Jerry takes care of his customers. Read through some of the posts here and you will see what I mean.

(3) Jerry's open challeng to other makers. :D

(4) And then I have personally tested all the knives I keep. Prying, chopping, cutting, etc. few times I have even abused them and they laughed at me.

I am sure there are other tough as steel knives out there. But I think that all of these things together in one package is what did it for me.

And please ask away. Most here love to share. :)
