Pick one.

In an earlier trio, I selected a jigged bone Waynorth lambsfoot, and I'll go for it again here. I had an unhealthy lust for that knife when they were first released, and I'm glad I'm over THAT, but I still think they're mighty desirable knives!

- GT

šŸ˜‚ I still have it!! The lust that is, uh, and the CC LF too...
Having both the lust and the lambsfoot is the best of all possible worlds! :thumbsup:šŸ¤“šŸ¤“
I think I'm getting too old for lust; my mind is in favor of it, but the rest of me, including budget, says, "Calm down!" o_O😁

I like the blade shape of the top one, but I have at least a couple other knives with that type of blade. (And I had the same model knife as Barrett's top one, but gave it away. I had done some "research" on it, and like J Just Tom. , I'm quite sure it's a Chinese counterfeit.)
Don't care for MAM's liner locks very much.
So I'd pick the Opinel #8; I've never been disappointed in an Opinel (once I figured out how to keep the wood at the pivot from swelling).

What about these 3, though?

(Sorry to say, but I believe Barrett’s is a Chinese knock-off)
I actually use the bottom one a lot more, but I do really like the top one, too. The middle one is a recent purchase - I’m not quite sure how I feel about it yet, but I like the brand in general. All of them cut like lasers.
Again, the blade on top and bottom knives appeals to me more than that on middle knife. And, thanks to J Just Tom. , I already have one just like the top knife. So I'd pick the bottom knife, and Tom's comparative comment seems to confirm my choice.

Choose one for your next camping trip:

I'd pick the middle knife because I don't have any knife branded "the Ideal".

I prefer the 2-blade Washington Jack.

Which one for whittling ?

Dan.
For whittling, I like a large handle but smaller blades, so I'd like to try that bottom one (although I worry that I might find 3 wharncliffe blades too much of a good thing).

I have all 3 of these knives, and my favorite is the Mercator. It has the most comfortable folded metal handle IMHO and has a lockback mechanism that I like best of all the lockback knives I have.

Hobson's Choice ?

I'd probably choose the bottom 2-blade, although I don't think I have any knives with "decorative" acrylic handles so the middle one certainly has appeal, too.

The 3 Dwarves: Queen, Schatt-M, GEC. Bone, Stag, Blackwood

OzcLJOu.jpg
I would opt for the 2-blade Queen pen knife, even though it has square bolsters, which are not my favorite.

I’m glad you like it:thumbsup::D

The one in my picture above is actually quit a bit larger than the one I sent you. Here is a comparison shot:

Thanks for the info and photo, Tom.:) I knew that the discontinued Aitor Castor model, which looks almost identical to the Pallares pictured here except with wood handle, came in 3 sizes. Didn't realize there were various sizes of the corresponding Pallares model, but I suppose I should have.

I'll take Knife Number 3 please. The Churchill is another GEC model that makes me think it might be worth all the hassles of getting a GEC.

One days carry from a while back
Northfield Dark Brewed 83 , or Henckles Barlow , or Case Barlow .
R9Pdps4.jpg
The "red twins" in the middle looks like a winner to me!

Three Northfield 72's that I had in 2016 and I gifted 2 of them at Christmas that year and i still have one of them . Which one ????
jf6sUt6.jpg
A color that would take some getting used to for me, but I'd take the top one based solely on the blade etch.

Three that I got at one of the Rendezvous . # 1 and #3 are GEC'S

Stag toothpick, for sure!

Northfields 73 , 74 , and 74

Stag 73, no doubt!

I'm going to cheat a little bit here and post 4 instead of just 3.View attachment 1941896
You've got different covers, blade grinds, shields if at all, and bolster materials to choose from.
If I remember correctly the 1st is also in 425m as apposed to the standard 420hc of the other 3, so theres that choice to make as well.
Those Buck 305s are cool pen knives!:cool::cool:
My preference is the 2nd from left, if my eyes are working properly: jigged bone with shield and NOT a saber grind.

The problem with this game is I don't have great knife identification skills from just a photo (I guess that's a problem with me, not the game šŸ¤“). So I don't know what I'm looking at in a photo like this. But I'll choose the knife on the left because of its round bolsters.

3" Lockbacks for consideration

PvdG1Nw.jpg
Mellow Yellow (quite rightly).
I'll agree with J Just Tom. (aka Donovan šŸ¤“) and choose the yellow Camillus, whose blade I like the best of this trio.

...
A trio of Case '08 half whittlers.

I detect a pattern in my preceding choices: I took the left knife, then the center knife, so I'll opt for the knife on the right here - the red bone looks good!

Left to right.
Cattlemen, stockman, 2 blade jack.

Thanks for the helpful extra info. I'll stick with my original choice; I'd be thrilled to have a cattleman's knife like that.

Choose a coping mechanism:

hbI5ozB.jpg
I have, and enjoy, the bottom two, so I'd opt for the top knife for variety's sake. I also like the shackle and the blade shape of the top knife. I can't make out the tang stamp, though.

ZmW03oN.jpg
Which forum knife?
I'll pick the top one, with the smallest amount of tang corner sticking up while knife is closed.

I'll go with the spearpoint Winchester penknife in the middle, please.

My preference in this trio is the black whittler with the pearlescent keystone shield (the bottom knife).

1. Turtles, spiders, or space creatures?:

2. Pick a puerile pocketknife please:

Edit:
Ok, so ā€œpuerileā€ is perhaps pushing things a little, but to always alliterate with alacrity you need to allow for a less-loved alternative meaning.

Posted these on the Smooth Bone thread but thought I’d add them here mainly due to the different blades on each. 😃

I'd pick the top one for its classic frame (although the novelty of the big one in the middle has some appeal, too).

Question of Taste

CnGsSKt.jpg
Middle one, please, because of its plain, centered shield.

Clip, spear, or sheepsfoot?
View attachment 1943372
If it's still available, I'll choose the one on the right because of its bail, shield, and sawcut bone covers.

This one might be a bit tricky. All quite similar, yet plenty different.

My preference is for the SAK on the right - slightly larger than the other two, and a nice shackle on it.

What a bone bonanza! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:
I've always admired the coffin jack in the middle with its "knurled" pivot bolster.

J J Klein Tools, Chicago, USA

I think made by Utica.
Thanks for the info. :)
I originally thought it was a Klein knife, but didn't think what I could see of the tang was consistent with that. I thought I saw "JJ" and didn't remember that as part of a Klein stamp.
