Pics and first impressions of the Lahar

George, sorry to hear about the mix up, its always tough having all that anticipation build up, and then the wrong knife.

At least the wrong knife was a JYD II. It'll be a good match for comparing to the Lahar when you get it.

One of my first Kershaws was the Lahar. That's what probably made me realize just how good a value their knives are. I just got the diamond stones for my Sharpmaker on Boxing Day, and decided it was time to reprofile some knives I have in better steels to a more acute angle. First up was my ZT0200, for some reason I couldn't do it with the regular stones, or I was too impatient. Now it's as sharp as the most of my knives. I say most because next up was my Lahar.
Holy. Crap.
I believe I now have a 30 degree light saber. I was always impressed with VG 10, now even more so. Get a Lahar if you don't have one already!

Got one. My first real knife after being in love with spydies. Shop owner steered me onto the Lahar. His last one. Paid an equivalent of 110 dollars for mine after discounts...to give you an idea how much value for the money this one is, I paid 140 dollars for my 3rd Gen Endura..
What a knife! Made my carry endura into a back-up.

Welcome to the forums!
Definitely a great first Kershaw.
I'd say the Lahar is right up there with the very high end Spydies in the overall build, fit and finish. Very impressive considering what it retails for here.

Enjoy it!

The Lahar is one of my favourite Kershaw design. Sturdy, comfortable, razor sharp, solid lockup, massive liners, high grade materials - beautiful and well priced.

Absolute a must have! ;)
