Pics!!! and question about my new slicer...

I think I have watched EVERY video about the XMs and I haven't come across that video yet...

That technique works. I carry my knives tip up. When I pull it from my pocket all I do is apply a slight push on the flipper and opening is super smooth and fast. Gravity assisted and ready to rock. I use lanyards for better extraction and control.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I think my pivot is a little tight since I can't get it to slide all the way like the video. It is smooth opening, but isn't frictionless like the video looked. I might need to get past the break in period.

That video is one of our Hinderer brothers rickcpd....here's another one. Remember that some of these are other generations and customs too. Rob says there's no difference in a custom compared to a production except the blade grind. I used think that's why he could open them like that - so I guess Rick has the strongest fingers and the best technique! :D

ahhhh i didnt know that was Rick V's channel! it all makes sense now.

i'll keep practicing. im sure that i just need to break it in a little more and it will glide out better. thanks for the help.

It does break in. I've had mine for a couple days and it gets easier but I still can't open it with the thumbstuds alone.

how is everyone getting Hinderers? I was one a waiting list for over a year and I felt like i was so close to getting one. When i asked the company for an update on where i was on the XM list- they inform me that they are no longer a hinderer dealer.....

at the time, they were the only ones taking names. who is taking names now?

I got mine directly from Rick, but the price I pay is spending 8 hours a day, 5 days a week around criminals that don't shower often.

They seem to sell out online everywhere before you can blink.

If it is too tight, the more you finger $^% it, the better it will get... now you have a good reason to play with your new toy!! :)
