finished my buddies rat.Nothing fancy just strippedoff the black coating and stonewashed the blade and pocket clip . I am still working on mine . I left the coating on my blade and stonewashed it . I am not sure if I will leave it like this or not .I am working on finishing up the scales now .

I've actually always hated this knife. So I was glad to be able to make it look at little more attractive (at least to me)
Though there's still not much I can do about that butt ugly pocket clip. I probably won't even start to carry it. But what can I say.

p.s. I'm aware that I did a terrible job on radiusing the spine. I did it on a belt sander...

I was very excited to see these, as I have been looking for a budget friendly low ride clip....but over $12 shipping to send a single clip? Wow

EDIT: You have to buy 2 to get the right shipping cost.

Finished this one last night. Orange rayskin to replace the grip tape. I think it looks pretty good. First time working eith the stuff and I did better than I thought I would, but still not perfect. Next time...

Wow lots of nice customized blades. I'm surprised no one posted a NutnFancy $125 tenacious voided warranty knife.

Stripped the coating; first time so result is sucky but I like it a lot. Gave the RAT-3 a very beat up and wel used look

Hi all,
I really like the BM585 but like to change things to my personality.
Here are some changes to my recent purchase.

Polished clip(both sides for smooth entry):

Replaced stock thumb stud with 1/4" polished Ti(only one as I'm a lefty):

Next is replacing the stock scales with Golden Amboyna...waiting patiently (barely) for them to come from Cuscadi.
After that I'm thinking of having the Marine's fouled anchor logo with "Gibbs rule 9" laser engraved.
 
I just finished putting a new suite on the mini-Ritter this week end. :cool:
It's brown canvas micarta w/standoffs.
