So I didn't expect that I would like the wave feature so much on my tanto. So I decided to do a little more work on the knife to make the feature more refine.

Yes, I removed the grip tape.
I made the inserts out of a large sheet of .04" 6Al4V.

Here are a couple I customized which surprised me with the amount of time and patience they required.. The have each been soaked in etching solution for days, out every few hours for a light scrubbing on the lettering, to get all of the lettering and logos to be "engraved" into the steel. Then they were each stripped of their coating, and hours and hours of hand rubbing with various grit 3M pads to get a nice finish. On the Junglas, I added a finger choil on the blade for choking up.

After I considered each knife finished, I had to then sand and shape the handles to be an exact fit to the "new" blade, due to the removal of the coating and sanding. I added custom TNK scales to the ESEE 6 and really like them. Needless to say, lots of hours went into these mods. I've had them for a while, but unfortunately they are up on the exchange now to fund my new hobby...

Kershaw Thermite with scales I made out of Jade G10. The assist mechanism has been removed and a detent hole drilled. It now functions as a manual flipper.
