Pics of my awesome shop

Nice shop Frank. The knives you make is surprising in a shop that small, but what is truly amazing is that your able to keep your mess contained in a space that small . Teach me, please? :)

Hellgap, great idea!

Thats a decent size shop Frank, you just need to organize and utilize space more effectively.
My suggestions, for what they are worth would be:

1) Shop around for some old kitchen cabinets that were removed from someones house when they had new ones installed, then, tear the randomly placed shelves off the right hand wall and hang the cabinets there.

2) Reinstall the shelves vertically at the end of the cabinets if the cabinets dont run the full length of the wall.

3)Toss the cable reel work bench out (round is an inefficient use of space in a square room).

4) Build another full length work bench along the left side. Leave a few spots under the bench open so you can slide the shop vac and other taller stuff under it that wont fit on a shelf or in the cabinet,

5) Get one of the overhead storage racks they make that you can screw to the ceiling along the back wall of the garage to stick your coolers and other stuff that you dont use every day. If you have bicycles in the garage, you can hang them on the ceiling as well so they are out of the way.

Organize what you have and I'm sure you will be surprised at the amount of room you end up with.

Oh, I forgot to add... don't let your wife in the garage once you have more room. As soon as they see there is more space, they tend to fill it up with more crap out of the house that they don't know what to do with. :D

Brad thats pretty much what my work bench is like but made from 3/4 inch plywood has 2 drawers and 4 cupboard doors with 2 shelves in each . The happens to have the drawer slide on it with my buffer/sharpener that I is hidden behind the door out of the way and off the counter top. Another huge way to organize is but the plastic type tupper ware rolling cabinet the can have up to 8 drawers I have one that has 5 and I keep all my sanding paper in one drawer another full of wood scales another glue and sewing stuff for sheaths and then another full of new extra items you allways need tape and pencils markers . In my cabinet drawer is just tools like wrenches and allen wrenches and razor knives the other 2 drawers have steel in one and stamping stuff and the other sheaths and patterns. The main thing here Iam getting at is sort you items out according to their use and how often you use them. I try but things can get ugly fast if your buisy.
