thanks,we rescued her, shes 8 but has a ton of energy. germen shepard mix

Most of mine have been rescues.
I like to spoil them. :)
I keep two food bowls full with two different flavors for them. I get kidded about this a lot, I just say, I don't know what they feel like eating today so I let them pick. :D
People can't believe I've never had an over weight dog problem from this type of feeding.
Seems if they learn the food will aways be there, they don't over eat.

555 i got 2 questions for yah, do you know a good website for tips on caring for an older dog? People keep telling me because shes 8 shes got like a year left, is that true because the spca say at least 4.

For expert advise I'd talk to your Vet or ask Mongo who is on line here now who is also a Vet.

Ether I've been very Lucky or what I do works because (knock on wood:)) every pet dies of Old age here, one of my kids had a Pet Rabbit and it lived to be over 11 years old before it passed on.

Me, I think Pets need the same things we humans need, lots of fresh water, food at the ready for when they a hungry and not when I think they should eat.
Lots of exercise and something a lot of people don't think of besides keeping them clean and warm or cool as needed is animals have minds too and the higher the dog IQ as in a shepherd the faster they become bored and need things for them to take an interest in even if it's talking to them.
