Photos pics of the cheapest knife in your collection.

A dollar each. Cheap is my specialty.

The top knife is a modern BladeTech 5.11 Taiwan AUS 8 Mike Vellekamp design that I paid $25 for. I cut the daylights out of my thumb the first time I closed it. For reference, the bottom one is a very early BladeTech Pro Hunter by Tim Wegner - US-made S30V that ran me, NOS, close to $200 - too much, I know, but it was the exact knife I was looking for.

I have nothing bad to say about the $25 knife other than it's heavy.

I also have two different blades that look exactly like the one below. One timberline Simba skinner (aka timberline Tim Wegner, same designer.) and the other is the navy k-615 (lockback) Keep it in mind if you want cheap versions of the same design.

It’s a Bestech Toucan in D2 steel. I use it as a beater around the house I’ve sharpened it once in two years and stropped it a couple of times. I did put skiffs in it!!! It’s been a great knife and held up for $65. Id buy another if this one dies.
china has been making nice knives for a few years. i have a few ch knives. they are the ones i use the most. a few years ago i bought a folder of ch, titanium scales and s35vn blade for 60 dollars. it is impossible to beat this price.

I have absolutely no complaints about it at all. It’s the knife that sits in the living room bowl, that everyone who doesnt carry a knife at my house uses. I use it occasionally when there’s something messy to do, then I just tear it down, clean and lube and back in the bowl it goes. And yes a few Chinese companies make good knives but when given a choice most of my knives are U.S.

Thanks. I picked it up because one of my favorites is Spyderco's Tim Wegner model. When he left Spyderco he bought the rights to the design of that knife and created the Pro Hunter.

I did not know that Wegner was associated with Timberline - I have a late '90s Timberline 'Special Service' that Spyderco designed which is the only other 'tanto' blade I own.

I'm thinking of carrying one of these knives in my pocket. To give these to those who want to use my knife instead.
Good idea. I keep one in my car, one is used to cut prescription pills in halves to lower my dosages, and the third sits in my knife case unused. $1 knives bought at Menards. They sharpen easily, but of course edge retention is a whole other story. Still very handy to have a beater or three around the house.

In “ my “ collection?

I guess it would be this Malibu in my giveaway.

Do I own knives that cost less? Probably but they were gifts from my wife and kids so they are priceless.
A collection where a $200 or $250 knife is the cheapest knife must be a damn fine collection. Unfortunately I am a knife addict and sometimes I even buy metal in the shape of a knife just because it looks nice. but, sir, I admire you.
