Photos pics of the cheapest knife in your collection.

Thank you :) . Just some of my early work.

They're not assisted, they're entirely manual. There aren't any springs involved in the opening, just a sudden burst of thumb pressure on the thumb studs.

I don't have any videos, or even photos of the process, I did the work on these knives back in 2014 if I recall correctly. I wasn't making videos of anything back then. I don't make process videos of my work now either. The knife work is enough work all by itself without trying to film it (camera angles, lighting, etc, etc). Making videos is not in my skill-set.

The one-hand closing mechanism is a stainless steel wrap-around thumb-press I made and attached directly to the head of the lock.

Impressive work my friend!

Cheapest would be either this Kutmaster or the Schrade Barlows. I paid $2 for one & $3 for the other at a flea market.

Next would be this Uncle Henry stockman that I bought in 1970 for about $15

Then the #07 Opinel for $16

I've been collecting knives since I was like 8 so I have a lot of cheap knives, maybe I'll go through them later and snap some pics, however as far as folders that a quality knife aficionado (😜) might enjoy getting is this Petrified Fish. I don't know what model it is, but it's $27 and it is amazing for the price! I've been using it as my beater knife for around the house tasks indoor and outdoor and the D2 steel seems to be heat treated amazingly well for its price. I've only lightly sharpened it once on my Sharpmaker and it gets all the dirty, gritty jobs. I strop it up every once in a while and it's good to go. Yesterday it was looking pretty grimy, but I cleaned it up last night after installing gummy sound treatment in my Cherokee for my sound system.

I think it's 818.

Yes, looks it is, thank you sir. It's one hell of a knife for under 30 bucks!
It certainly is. No matter what anyone says, the Chinese have brought a new breath to the knife market. Who would have thought to buy a knife of this quality for such money in the past? Anodized titanium s35vn steel blade for $60 (Now it's $100 but still amazing, I'm talking about the ch knives) Its just mind blowing

You're probably right, but I cannot bring myself to buy a Chinese knife due to geopolitical reasons. But hey this is about Cheap knives anyway

I think you have to convince yourself of that. Today, if you buy an American-made (or another country etc.) knife from an American company (or German etc. ) (of course, this is a wrong generalization, but it applies to the vast majority), you are also paying for their production and investments in China. Also, the world is now a global village. People need to abandon prejudices about borders and look for personal benefits. If something can be produced at this price, it can be produced for a tolerable difference, if not the same price. However, sometimes people's emotions are exploited and sales are made at exorbitant prices because they are locally produced.

Ps: These are my personal thoughts. I don't claim that they are true. I feel this way and I wrote them to share them.

Also a few years back, when SanRenMu made small folders (you know the infamous 710 model 🤫) they could be had for around 7-10 bucks from chinese online stores.
