Pics of the G10 handled 110 please

Well, panhandling on a freeway isn't working so well. It's too hot, anyway. I was dozing off in the LR an hour or so back, after sharing my lunch with a cat, when there was a rap upon my door - the UPS guy!

Wow - what a knife! Sadly, I did note a little side play in the closed blade, probably over-sensitized to that by the BP 110 thread, although it lies perfectly centered then and is rock-solid when open. The red/black Micarta is nearly as thick as the black G10 that overlays it. My Bark River '07 Limited Edition North Star has a gold/brass underlayment below it's black G10 - a thin line that contrasts against said black G10. I expected that as an example of what to expect with the red under the G10. It is red/black Micarta - and requires some serious light - possibly, if your eyes are the age of mine, some magnification to see. When you see it, you'll see the junction - the Micarta and G10 are nearly the same thickness. Another thing... G10 can be finely sanded and polished, witness the aforementioned North Star fixed blade. The BCCI 110 is not - it has some appropriate 'tooth' to it... it is more likely designed to be a user, as the BG-42 would indicate. Nice shaver's edge, of course.

So, now you know why my BR North Star is a looker - too slick and no finger guard to keep you from slipping over the blade. This BCCI 110 is a neat 'looker', too... but could be a fine 'user'. It now joins it's two siblings from the C S in BG-42 - in a stand, until it's 'bragging rights' EDC rotation comes up. Neat knife!

What we were going for on this 110 was to leave the rough texture of the g-10 alone as much as possible. The stuff we had on hand was too thin to be used as a 110 inlay and that is why we used the red micarta underneath. The original prototype for this project actually has black micarta.
We were not going for a contrast between the 2 layers although I have to admit, you have me wishing we had. That would have been way cool! :)

Is it a joke? There is somebody swimming in the Bay who likes to sell his G10
handled 110 for 799 bloody f.... U.S.Dollar. What's his name? Bullshit?

What do you think: Does he find anybody who pays this amount?

Well then, we can bet on that. I think he sells. Who has another opinion?

Best regards,
Haebbie

Gee, for that you could get a Bear Gryll's custom made Bayley knife from England... and a Wally-world Buck 110 or two. Nothing shocks me on evil-bay.

One question... where are those loons when I try to sell something??

Neat knife... Glad I got it... I just don't know if it's that neat. I may have to use mine so I won't be tempted...

I also saw that on the bay.

Not sure if he needs his meds checked or what. It is OBO so I thought about sending him a reasonable offer, then thought better of it if he is that off base I don't want to deal with him.

The way the economy is going I can see him actually selling it when he needs funds for a real price.

Think I'll just order another custom 110 and call it a day.

I too have seen this on ebay, go to the auction and read the question and answer, you'll enjoy it.

well i call it "fishing".. ,
they are like salesman at a used car lot.
they dont expect to catch a buyer at that price..
they would sell for that but they dont expect to..
what they are after is the best offer..
the fool that will offer half of the asking price..
i am always shocked when it works..
history shows that he has sold :
5 pice kitchen set for 125
and the 3 pice set for 75
and the steak knife set for 150
all over 3 X what he paid..
so he is not doing bad jest the people buying could save if they were like us ...
many folks dont have access to other sources
what we have knowledge of is normally considered insider connections

Don's BG-42 cherry is up to $150 on evilbay. That "no more BG-42" line has put the zap on some people's heads;)

no i offence but i dont get why ppl like this design. small blade, handles too wide. Prob weighs like 9 ounces. and the lockback is in a terrible position

Classic design, handles built for a man, solid build (7.2 ounces). Do you have a cousin named Dave?

They are still available at the Buck Factory Store for $125 plus shipping.

I do see your point... I own a lot of knives, both Bucks and other makes, that carry better, deploy faster, lighter, slimmer, etc. But I still like the classic design and solid feel of my 110's.

Kind of like the 1911 .45, and Harleys, it's an American classic.

Hard to find a better value in the knife world, especially if you prefer American made products.
