What are the the three knives that are the best of your best, favorite of the favorites, grails of all grails, holy of the holiest, you get the point!

What is it that makes these 3 knives the trinity of your collection? What seperates them from the rest? All knives welcome of course from all the different styles, modern, traditional, fixed, whatever makes up your trinity!

Pic’s preferred of course!

My trinity:

Emerson Roadhouse - I’m sure some are shocked Les wasn’t first but the roadhouse was the first knife I absolutely fell in love with. It stood apart from my benchmades and spydercos because it didn’t feel like a pocket knife but rather a weapon or tool ready for anything thrown at it. The handle is excellent in hand and to this day it’s slightly bellied tanto is absolutely my favorite blade shape ever.

Hinderer xm18 - this was a tough one between it and the sebbie. While the sebbie is a thing of beauty the hinderer wins out on the incredible ergonomics of the handle (possibly my favorite), and it seems virtually indestructible. The action on it is excellent and is just one of the best built knives I have ever handled.

Les George Mk3 - saving the best for last of course. This knife has quickly become my all time favorite knife to carry, use and just play with. It is a big knife (3.75”) but is just barely over 3/8” thick and barely over 5g so it carries excellent in the pocket which I really appreciate. The handle just melts into the hand with no hotspots at all. The blade is a beautiful dagger that I love and again feels like a weapon rather than a pocket knife. What sets it apart from the rest is the action of not just the pivot but also the frame lock. It just performs everything flawlessly with no effort.

Honorable mention - the Talos

Making want to carry my roadhouse tomorrow! I'm jealous of that mk3. Haven't been able to snag one.

I’ve had the roadhouse in my pocket all day, great knife!

I’ll definitely keep my eye out for ya. You gotta promise to do a review of it 😉

Best action I've experienced on any knife, any price. Corsican ram horn handles, amazing fit and finish. I'd planned to buy one back in 2015, but my ex-wife put me into debt, and I finally nabbed one on the exchange this May.

Biryukov #7 S390
Biryukov #12 S125V

Both of these have really great smooth action, incredible f&f. You know it's well mare when you reassemble a frame/liner lock and it needs zero adjustment for centering or perfect action. Plus, unique steels. Orange peel finish on one, mirror laminate on the other.

Honorable mentions:

Seamus knives Nor'Easter
Cheburkov Strizh/Sparrow

Both also have excellent fit and finish. The Seamus is unique with giraffe bone and a double detent flipper.

The Cheburkov is linerless CF. Again reassrmbles perfectly centered.

TJ Schwarz Overland with leather swivel belt loop I made, Hogue Ritter, Case pen, rounds out my choice of 3...for now at least ;)

Untitled by GaryWGraley, on Flickr

The little Case has two blades and a neat bail that I was able to use a braided leather lanyard on there, the bead is held fast by a wedge of rubberized cork so it can't slide off
