  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Pics of your TRINITY!

My current trinity. CRK is more heavily represented in my collection than any other brand. I love the designs, ergos, everything, especially that they make models for southpaws like me. This one is extra special in design and emotion for me. The Arno Bernard iMamba has become a fast favorite. Along with the Koenig Arius, these are some of the few knives where I love the action and design enough to deal with them being right handed.

Honorable mention to my two lefty Hinderers who I left out for inferior fit and finish to the above. Also honorable mention to my Grimsmo Norseman that has amazing action and ergos, but is darn near impossible to obtain left handed.

My three favorite folders:

Spyderco GB2: If I could only keep one of my folders, it would be the GB2. Excellent blade shape. Great cutter. Solid lock up. Love M4.
Benchmade 940-1: Lightweight, capable, great steel and a joy to carry. The knife I carry when going to a party or out on a date with my wife.
Russel Straight Line Barlow: Always loved the Barlow design. Reminds me of my childhood. The ultimate American Barlow.

Favorite fixed blades:

RAT Cutlery (ESEE) RC6: If I could only keep one of my fixed blades, it would be this one. Great blade shape, Handle fits my hands well.
Spyderco Sprig: My favorite camping carry. Good slicer, great steel. I can clean a fish, debone a chicken, cut up veggies and slice the meat on my plate.
Humphrey Gunfighter Bowie: Love the blade shape. The large/long handles fit my XXL paws. The Pale Moon Ebony scales are beautiful and rare to see. Lon Humphrey knows how to heat treat 1095. Had Dave Ferry make a sheath and belt for it. Turned out nice.

Not to brag but I have a few nice knives. Here are 3 at random (sort of):

From the right, my Deviant Blades full custom liner lock is by renowned Belgian maker Filip de Leeuh, and boasts a modified Persian blade in Stellite 6K dendritic cobalt (it can’t rust) and solid Zircuti twist scales;

In the middle is my @williamhenry_studio Monarch B05 MCT, featuring a Rob Thomas “Typhoon” Damascus blade, an integral frame and bolsters in Mokume Gane by Mike Sakmar, and basketweave Carbon Fiber scales. This was a gift from my wife 12 years ago;

And left is my @urbanedcsupply exclusive Custom @protect knives legendary California-legal Runt 5 automatic, with a reverse Tanto blade in Vegas Forge “Spirograph” stainless steel Damascus and aluminum bronze scales in the Japanese Seigaiha pattern signifying good fortune, and embedded in the opening button is a mosaic pin. This is snappy AF!

That's a hard one to nail down to three. In no particular order:

Gayle Bradley 2: It's just the knife that fits me. There's things I don't like about it, but it never fails to make me smile every time I use it.

XGkC6W3.jpg

TRM Atom: One of the few knives in my collection that I feel like, for my needs, is perfect. Size, weight, cutting performance, design, ergos, action, the company behind it - it's so good it's almost boring. When it comes to thumb-stud liner-lock knives, it is definitely my benchmark.

ZT 0630: The redheaded step-child of what I generally like in folders. It's thick, heavy, unpolished, but somehow perfectly executed. I can't help but love it for some reason, and it's probably the folder I've carried the most for the past several months. Something that's really big for me is the feel in-hand, and the SHF used to the pinnacle for me for that, until I got the 0630. Plus, the wave opener is undeniably fun.

I have a 0630 landing today. Love the ZT Emersons! Where did you get that scale? It's a beauty!

Nice! Also a huge fan of the ZT Emersons (this and also the 0640). The scales were already on when I got it - I'll reach out to the guy I bought it from today to see if he has info on the scales. I love them - they're CF, but have a really matte / rough texture that makes for a really solid grip.

Awesome, I appreciate it. The 0630 landing today will complete my ZT Emersons collection. I already have a 0620 and 0640. You should check out the monster discs from Pete Gray. They are an awesome mod for the ZTs and of course the standard Emersons.

Thanks - those look fantastic! I could definitely do with a bigger diameter thumb disk on both of them - these look perfect.

They make the blades much more flickable without being obtrusive in the pocket. A wonderful upgrade for sure.

I’ve been collecting Mostly Spyderco’s and Hinderers for some time and I’ve been real interested in obtaining a Chris Reeve and Strider knife. Well I finally pulled the trigger on the Reeve and Strider. All I can say is WOW, they are all great knives but each is somewhat unique and different from the others. I still love a flipper and my Hinderers are still the smoothest deploying knives I’ve tried. The sebenza is just a bit too “dressy” for me. Anyway I just wanted to share my accomplishment. I’m glad to have an example of each.

After Strider's stolen valor escapades became common knowledge, not really sure he's part of "The Trinity" anymore, especially since most people don't care to own something from a company who gained their fanbase based on lies, and whose knives for a long time were actually pretty poorly made.

I'd daresay there are better knives that belong in that third slot these days, like Les George or Keonig. 🤷
