this is my new fishing and hiking companion and i don't see us parting ways ever.i got it to accompany my custom designed bulldog john built for me several months ago. i typically carry a spyderco as my main fishing knife, but i wanted a dependable small fixed blade to eliminate having to take a part a folding knife to clean it. i had john make me a mini potowatomi w/ extended handle - approx 3 7/8". this one fits the bill perfectly. in my opinion, it's the best sized fishing knife. it's extremely light with a great, thin full flat grind. i kayak fish a lot (and occasionally shore fish) for bass and trout throughout their seasons, so i need something that is easily accessible at all times. i asked john to make the kydex small teklok compatible for horizontal carry and also able to neck carry. the retention on the sheath is great and fits the small teklok perfectly. for the steel, i chose O1 in 3/32 for john's superior heat treat, ease of sharpening, and because i love a great patina.
