Pictures of my Mora's!

Ah, I wanted to do a search but seach is disabled for basic members.

I guess unless I try one out for myself I won't really get it. The blades themselves look alright - it's the handles that bother me the most.

Guess you can't judge a book by its cover (or handle?)...

I have some of this model

Seriously, I think this is the knife with the handle I ever had. It's really superb. And yes, I have some high end knives. So I would say the handle is just as good as the blade itself. The sheath REALLY REALLY sucks though. It's horrible. (worst sheath I ever saw).

Care to share your results?

Snapped blades due to prying. The steel is somewhat soft and the tips bent real easily. I showed a pic of one where I dented the edge of a clipper from batoning. They are very easy to destroy.

Now anyone who reads this doesn't have to give me the spill on how Moras are not hard use knives. I know that. It was just a fun experiment.

When my package of Moras arrived (complete with EKA H8 at the bottom of the box :D :D ), the 780 Triflex was slightly squibbed at the tip....bent to one side, just shy of "microscopically".... but with my eyes... I saw it like it was a rhino in the kitchen. hehe

I just laid the knife on the bench, tilted it up at a slight anlge, and pressed down, bending the offending tip back straight as a really, really, really straight arrow (that's 3 reallys). THAT impressed me! I thought "If I ever damage this thing, even break it in half, all I need to do is bring it back to this here bench!"

I like these Moras and I'm glad I finally tried some.

Hey Fjell,
What model is that? If you don;t know, does anyone recognize it?
I kindly like the handle design and shape.

Man, every time I see pics of Moras on this site, it's the ones with the plastic handles.

I've never had one with a plastic handle! I have only ever owned wooden handled ones. I love them!

Personally I can say that I have given moras hard use for a lot more than an hour without seeing one fail - I would guess some of mine have HUNDREDS of hours of work time on them. If you are using it to cut things, I predict that it will never give you trouble. If you are trying to use it instead of a prybar, a crescent wrench, a garage door opener or any other utilitarian item, I predict you will find the results disappointing.

I promised to post some pictures of my Mora's, so here you go:

This is the knife in my survival story:

I think Mora's are kind of a cult, a sick conspiracy, like SAK's and Opinels. I've got two Clippers, love em to death, also one of those red-handled wooden thingies. And a few puukkos.

Looking at udtjim's lineup, I also have one of those on the right hand side, third down: that's a great carving knife! It is scary sharp. And yes it comes with a crappie plastic sheath.

Regarding those plastic sheaths, a few minutes with a heat gun or your wife's and/or girlfriend's really hot hair dryer, you can finger mold that plastic to a much better fit.

Or, use the plastic sheath as a liner and put a leather sheath around it.
