Pictures of Orange Knives

Wow, that echelon is cool. How did you dye it?

It was really pretty easy. Buy the RIT fabric dye of your choice and follow the "stove top" instructions on the back. I had to leave mine in the dye bath on simmer overnight to get the orange that dark, but it wouldn't take nearly that long with a darker color.

Thanks for the reply. I assume you put the entire knife in? Or did you take it apart? Sorry, one more question, did you use the powder or the liquid?

No problem! I disassembled the knife and suspended the scales with a bent coat hanger through the pivot screw holes to keep them evenly coated. I used tangerine liquid, mixed 1.25 tbsp per cup of water, but i have heard good things about the powder as well. Make sure to keep the pot covered to prevent the water from boiling off if you are going to be leaving it on for an extended period of time.

Ok here's mine

Eli

That Bush Monkey does it for me. I've not been familiar with them. That's my style of "do it all", knife.

I've got a new design in the works that's going to be close to the Bush Monkey. I make 'em for friends and family, so they aren't perfect! Here's a pic of my best (original), design, so far:

This one has seen quite a bit of use, but it's still going strong. I prefer the taller profile blades (1 1/3" to 1 1/2"), for bush crafter types.

Again, nice knife, Bro!

Got this Wednesday, my only orange knife. Will most likely be my pumpkin carving knife this year.

since I have all of the orange kershaws (except the elusive one in my sig), i guess it's time to switch brands? ;)

Jakeboy: I like it a lot, the forward angle makes it so much more useful to me than if it was just a straight blade.... post pics when you finish yours.
