The vanilla gorilla is finally here.
First 4Max for me...and probably not the last one.

She bit me right away right on the knuckle just to let me know she's a keeper.
I was used to the more laid back position of the ricasso on the Colossus, lesson learned, the sooner the better.

You know, it's a pretty interesting animal. It's like a slightly tougher, bigger and meaner Recon 1. At first I wasn't sure it even had a place in my rotation, now I know better. It's actually a pretty good hard use, outdoors folder. It carves very well with the thin hollow grind and you can use the pommel to hammer it into wood and make fuzz sticks, plus the spine is amazing for shaving wood and scraping a ferro rod.
I also really like the way it deploys from the pocket, either in standard and reverse grip: I'm not big on knife fighting stuff but I guess it would strike hard and fast in skilled hands. I think you should at least try it if you get the chance, I don't even like tantos but this one has something special to it, if you get past the initial weirdness it really grows on you.

The grind is one of the things I like the most, there is no knife that I own quite like this one. Too bad it's hard to make it show up right in picture with all the reflections. Pretty cool to look at but also functional.
