Dr Bills great post got my mind working overtime on what a great pig sticker knife should look like, I have to admit that as great as Bills Siegal knife looks it is'nt what springs to mind when I think of a Pig Sticker.
So I thought it would be fun to post what kind of knife you think would be ideal for this task or even what knife in your own collection you think would work well !!!!

Unfortunately I can't post what I had in mind as my photobucket account ain't working !!!!!!:(

I guess this is more what I had in mind, hell it's even called a Boar hunter !

I think I can recall a really neat one that Dan Koster had made once as well !!!

I always thought the bayonet from a Mosin-Nagant would work very well. Last fall I suggested that my friend use an M44 for his boar hunt so he would always have a pig-sticker handy. Not sure if that's a terribly practical pig-sticker, but the bayonets are long, strong, and pointy.

I hope I am not out of line taking a pic from the makers forum, if I am I apologize. This is what I picture a pig sticker to be.

Louis Tortorich aka Rocketmann I hope you don't mind me using your pic.

As much as I hate to admit it, Cold Steel boar spear. It went in one side and out the other of a 130 sow. One quick hit and she did a half turn and dropped never to rise again. I have seen videos of guys using 5 inch hunters and stabbing the pig many times. For a knife, I would say 8 inch blade, double guard. My "backup" on that hog hunt was an 11 x 1 1/2 inch W2 bowie

This Clax is an awsome chopper, and sticker, razor sharp and double edged. It actually resembles a huge spear head on a substanstial handle.

F DICK pig sticker. I have used one for years, handles the biggest boars with ease. Quite popular here in Australia.

This was a knife I made I call the Boarhunter just for this insane activity. :D
